Topic: If Mother 3 comes to the US, What can you predict will be censored?

Mother 2 had a lot of censors in its US release, What can you predict would be censored if Mother 3 somehow came to the US?

All of it.

Probably.

Hopefully none of it. Maybe the transgender guy, but, id rather have a high rating than censored stuff.

Oh, as far as licensed stuff they clearly stole from other mediums? I think Mother 3 was pretty light on that stuff. I only recall hearing of one music track they'd have to take out. Then again, they didn't seem to change much in Earthbound...

EDIT: Apparently it's a bunch of songs. And this game uses musical timing in the combat as well as tying a ton of songs together...I'd give up on a VC release, if I was you guys.

Of course. It's not like they did anything to any other VC games to try to gain a lower rating. The concern is entirely with licensed content for stuff they don't have the licenses for...

I'll bet even if it gets no censors, It'll get rated T, Which is what EarthBound got.

I'll settle for a Teen rating. I don't want Mother 3 to be turned into a E rated, childish game.

Never really seen the Japanese version of Earthbound, or comparisons and all that, so...I dunno.

I remember when everyone was saying that EB would never be released on VC because of the Hippie song, or the Sky Runner song, or the Good Morning theme, or etc. The songs will not change.

I still would like to actually play Earthbound. It would be awesome to see the trilogy as a package.

If it was translated by Nintendo, it wouldn't even have had most of those in the first place. Even Tomato has had regrets as to whether he should've kept those or not.

As to what I see most likely being changed, the Magypsies could be made to look less masculine. But for all the discussions on censorship and "homo/transphobia" that would cause, it wouldn't really make a difference story-wise since in-game they're asexual. _{The original meaning, not whatever it means on Tumblr nowadays}

There are games like Bayonetta 1 and 2, ZombiU, Watch Dogs, Darksiders II, Assassin's Creed III, Mass Effect 3, and Resident Evil Revelations are rated M and on the Wii U, so I'm pretty sure that Nintendo will have no problem releasing Mother 3 without any censors.
