@TingLz: How much though. Have you done all of Linkle's story? Have you done all of Cia's Tale? Have you done the Wind Waker stuff?
I'd imagine at least the main story and Linkle's Story would need to be completed though maybe even Cia's Tale and Wind Waker story. The Wii U requirement was literally complete Legend Mode.
I could unlock TMidna as soon as the northern tiles went black (right after beating Ganon). I think I just needed to use the digging mitts to unlock her as a reward. Besides the hookshot, of course.
I have been enjoying the little bit of the wind waker map I can play right now (haven't beaten the last three levels of Legend, so most of the map is locked). Although it seems like there's many "useless" tiles, and for some reasony characters don't seem to get much exp in the map.
Somehow, the Zelda wiki already has a few images for some of the costumes that will come with the master quest wind waker map. (Also yay that means these DLC packs will indeed have costumes).
Link: slightly pinkish red tunic with teal scarf. Maybe based on Valoo or the King.
Lana: Aryll themed costume, with blond hair.
Darunia: the Deku Tree, yeah. Green hair and all.
Toon Link: Niko. It's awesome.
I've got an interesting concept, what if the characters are unlockable in the adventure maps that come with them. So like Marin being locked until you unlock her in the Link's Awakening map and her level 2, 3 and 4 weapons being in the same map.
@Grumblevolcano: I don't see the developers doing this, some 3DS version owners could get angry: "Why Marin is automatically unlocked in the Wii U version but we have to pay for a locked character?"
I heard they unlock and have their weapons unlocked automatically in the original WiiU DLC mostly because in Japan you could to buy the DLC separately, a character here, a costume there, a map over there. Etc.
So they couldn't add the characters or their weapons, or stuff for them in the maps.
Maybe this time it will be different, since Japan is getting the DLC in packs like us.
Of course, since the WiiU will only get the characters, it's safe to assume they will have their weapons and stuff.
I'm dedicating today to material grinding. I finished Young Link's infamous Special Bar and Focus Spirit Length skill trees and I'm excited to try them out, but I want to finish a few more skill branches with some more Ganondorf Jewels first.
@Grumblevolcano: I don't think that would be a good idea at all. Players would have to pay AND invest potentially over a hundred hours into the game just to see the new characters! And players who bought the season pass already and haven't had the time to play that much yet would be so screwed, and angry and frustrated.
If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.
I'd say maybe just give us the character instantly, but have their weapons and hearts for them in their maps (maybe even a costume!). It would give an incentive to use them.
All the content from the WiiU game (including DLC) is available in this game, and it's mostly unlockable via Adventure Mode (nothing is available right from the start).
Except:
-Challenge mode.
-Playable Ganon or Giant Cuccoo.
-8-bit weapons for the characters.
-"Classic" costume for Link.
There's no online multiplayer, online interaction is limited to network links, which a special kind of level you can play in adventure mode to "help" your friends in need.
Depending on your definition of completion, it could take anywhere between about ten hours or less (beat Legend mode) or hundreds of hours (beat all the levels, the adventure maps, the reward levels, get all the items, hearts, fairy gear, costumes, skulltulas, etc).
@Meowpheel: The 4th point was preorder DLC and you sure about no 8-bit weapons? I'd have thought they would be relocated to the Twilight/Termina maps. If not maybe they'll be with the DLC adventure maps.
