If Nintendo did go down this route it's gonna be Mario 64 that get's the treatment first surely.

Seeing Mario's 3D head for the first time back then was awesome! Seeing it again in full HD? I'll need new trousers!

I think that Super Mario Sunshine deserves an HD version. If that game was colorful before, Imagine how it would look in HD!

It's interesting how this thread went from HD remasters to "TP had dull colors" to "STOP HATING TP" (because disliking its art style = hate) to "Majora's Mask was ugly too" to Zelda storyline debate and back to thread in the span of two days.

well luigi mansion will probably have a HD remaster and a feature unlocked, it was to be a 3D game but didnt work for the gamecube did it?

I remember reading somewhere that 3D was way too expensive back then, so, even though the GC was completely capable of doing 3D, they never used it.
They also wanted the GBA to be 3D, I think.

I don't want any GameCube HD remakes. Only N64, NES, or SNES ones. NES and SNES remakes taking art styles similar to Sonic The Hedgehog 4... just as an example. Don't de-rail this topic about Sonic 4's art style...

Anyways, I don't want to see GameCube remakes because they still look great to me. Those are the most likely to be remade, though, because they can slack off on remodeling polygons (Rayman 3 HD on PSN).

There's a problem with N64 HD remasters though: They would actually need to work on these.
Game Cube games only need better textures and small tweaks here and there.

(That's the reason Silent Hill HD collection doesn't include the original Silent Hill)

I think it would be cool if Nintendo formed a couple new dev teams. One to work on 3D classics for the 3DS and one to work on HD classics for the Wii U. They would just go through and redo all sorts of old games. Then, of course, the games would see both a retail and digital release.
The game I think I'd like to see an HD remake of the most is Super Mario All-Stars. Make the game look like an next-generation game, but play exactly like the nes game. Also with new added features.

Anything before gamecube would need actual work. If they were to do HD remakes of NES/SNES games, they would need a lot of work, too. But N64HD remasters would be awesome. Rare needs to get back with Nintendo. They could've been making a lot of money off the VC had they stuck with Nintendo, or at least went to third party like they had originally planned.

Instead of Super Mario Sunshine in HD, just give us a Super Mario Sunshine 2
