It is not a valid opinion if it is technically wrong.
i.e. This guy thinks a red car is blue.
Can anyone explain to me how someone thinks a car is blue when it's red? This is a serious question.
I never claimed that his opinion is valid. Personally I think he is an idiot for 1) tweeting something (well multiple somethings) that was certain to stir controversy on his personal/professional Twitter account (companies really don't like employees saying things like this, since it ends up giving them bad press) and 2) not even being technically correct.
Never thought I'd love the pink/white 3DS XL ♥
Currently Playing: Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
3DS Friend Code: I'll post it eventually xD
Taking bets I say in the next 24 hours he will claim his twitter account was hacked or something. But if not then he is allowed a opinion. He is most likely going to get some stick for the next few days but he shouldn't. If that is his opinion on the Wii U then people should accept it.
Yes, he is allowed to have an opinion. But if he is going to voice his opinion, he should be prepared to face any backlash. Honestly, I'd expect these kind of remarks from someone inexperienced in the professional world, not someone who says "Games industry veteran with shipped AAA titles across three generations of console hardware" on his LinkedIn page.
Yea but it has a 'weird tablet.'
We can't expect this guy to grapple with modern technology! It's so alien.
"Less powerful than the Xbox/Ps3."
False. Even then, you didn't say much about Wii/ds systems and still made games for it.
"Online sucks."
You guys have dealt with worse online services (Wii's online service). Even then what kinds of online services suck for you? (Besides not getting Origin)
"Weird tablet"
That's probably the sound of someone either not putting in enough time in it or someone being just plain lazy.
Was Mariobro4. No, I'm not taking off my backpack...it's important.
It's crap because its less powerful? That's not a good reason. The Wii U is appropriately powerful for many relevant game experiences as a home console. The gamepad is not weird it's very standard and relatable. Just more pompous attitude from developers trying to stay relevant themselves as console content providers.
The guy works for EA Sports, masters of regurgitating the same exact games every year so it's no wonder how new ways to play are scary to them! They don't wanna learn how to improve, they just wanna copy/paste the same game year after year, rake in the cash, and call it a day!
I find this sort of (increasingly common) behavior shocking from a purely professional standpoint. In this guy's career path, Nintendo is a potential partner and, therefore, a potential source of revenue, regardless of current market conditions. To treat potential partners, however unlikely that partnership seems at this moment, in such a condescending way and without any visible reprimand from superiors is mind boggling. If I were to act this way in my career I would be taken to task in a very real way by my superiors under good circumstances, and put on a "thin ice" scenario as to the continuance of my job under bad circumstances. And again, what a wonderful representation of a company that has consistently been voted "worst."
Wow, the unprofessionalism of this tweet is astounding. Quite immature. Responses and PR would much better if he worded this much better. Some others and I would be more inclined to take a him a bit more seriously if he did. (Not considering him not saying anything as an option of course) I would expect better from a man in his position. The people just embarrass the company they work for when they do this.
I have grown to love twitter. At first I hated I didn't see the point but i have come to the realization that it one of the best new forms of entertainment. No PR BS to get in the way, just pure unadulterated raw emotion and opinions.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
The Wii U does need good games, which seem to be on the way, but that part about it being weaker than the 360 tech spec's are crap. He's a gaming veteran? Wow.
