Topic: Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze - OT

Already pre-ordered mine. Still got to get through Origins, Arkham City, Rayman, and at least start into Monster Hunter. I will probably get Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3 for my b-day in early February as well. I am a little back logged at the moment.

Man.. I pre-ordered this from Newegg for $44.99 just to save $5.. problem is, I have to wait for it to arrive in the mail. I'm tempted to cancel and go pick up at the store the morning of release. This game is looking awesome so far.. those screenshots are gorgeous.

I agree 100%. I've looked at a lot of games from all different consoles the past few months, and the graphics in this game have impressed me big time! We know the game will play great too, and that just adds to the excitement. This will definitely be one of the best games of 2014 IMO.

The latest edition of the U.K Official Nintendo magazine (104) has some really interesting new information about DKCTF. For example each world has 3 secret levels instead of the original games one per world . Also the President and CEO of Retro says "As for Tropical Freeze, there are a few more things I feel we could have done with the animal buddies" which to me suggests that at least something has been done with them in Tropical Freeze.

So we are now looking at a game with around 60 levels in total (6 or 7 main with 3 secret ones) so similar if not larger than returns!

I would seriously reccomend that any DKCTF fan who lives in the U.K. gets the latest issue when it arrives in shops on 15th January as it reveals a fair few new bits about the game that I have not seen anywhere else and is an interesting read!

I dread to think how difficult the ice levels are going to be on this game. I mean ice levels are hard enough as they are, but by Donkey Kong standards, sheesh. And the whole island has been taken over by ice! Gonna be so many ice levels.

I'm glad there's a lot of secret stuff to unlock, it will mean I'll actually put the effort in to get all the letters and what not. That's something I gave up on pretty easily in Returns.

I'm actually really excited for this now. Congrats Retro, you've earned my money. I'll likely place a pre-order today or tomorrow.

I'll get this once I graduate... which unfortunately won't be before this summer..

This game will be here in just over a month! It's looking great, and I'm ready to get a Wii U along with this game.

There was some serious spoilage in that article. Don't read it if you don't want easter eggs or some secrets ruined. I am also surprised that he doesn't like the cart levels.. those are always fun.

Does anybody think there's gonna be a Wii U bundle with this game? Or maybe I should buy a Wind Waker HD bundle?

Oh cool, they're bringing back the green and blue balloons! The Extra Heart and the Banana Juice (plus 10 hits) return too which is nice. I wonder what that Shield item does...
