Topic: Charging Wii U gamepad via USB adapter

Hey everyone! So, by mistake I put a chair on my AC adapter cable, sat on it and as a result, well, the charger doesn't work anymore.
I bought the USB charger cable on Amazon and based on reviews it should work without any problems. However, I tried connecting the USB cable to USB adapter in the wall socket, laptop and even Wii U USB ports. None of the methods charge my gamepad... Am I missing something here? Can you charge WIi U gamepad via this kind of cable?

I have a Nyko cable but I haven't tried charging directly with it. I have just used it to charge the Nyko Uboost.

I can try and see and let you know. At least that way you would know if the problem is the cable.

I've got a USB charger for mine. Mine only works when the gamepad is turned off for some reason. Try that.

With the gamepad turned on it seems to charge fine for me when I hook it up to an outlet or to the Wii U USB port.

The system menu tells me its charging at least.

So what's the actual problem?

No problem, I was just testing if I could charge with my Nyko USB cable.

For the Wii U USBs, the system has to actually be on...no clue about the computer...reasons can vary. Like some of mine wouldn't work because I didn't have a certain driver installed.
