I've been playing a fair bit of Hearthstone recently and was wondering why there wasn't anything similar on the Wii U?
The gamepad can be used to show your hand/cards with the main action/table on the television. I can understand Nintendo missing out on Hearthstone (although that would be pretty cool to have on Wii U) but what about a Yu-Gi-Oh? After the up-cry about the Pokémon Trading Card Game not slated for release on the Wii U it seems like an easy win and something which could do well on the eShop, or even a full retail game if a main campaign were worked in.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal World Duel Carnival just came out on the 3DS and it'd be easy to do something similar on the Wii U but with online multiplayer to boot. People would lap it up.

Or multiplayer in general, it's shocking a game like that doesn't have multiplater local or online at all.
I suppose it would be interesting, but that's about it. Card games can be very hard to get into, and if they're just card games, the appeal will be very limited. Nowadays, card games (especially TCG's) cannot survive without multimedia marketing (TV show, comics, novels, relation to other games), but who in their right mind can just stomp that out of the ground?
Hearthstone was a lucky draw because it was made by Blizzard, but just creating an entirely new card game for any platform is a risky deal.
@arronishere Beats me, but yes, it's baffling how Nintendo misses out on their own userbase. On the other hand, the iPad version is just a rather straight port of the PC game, so were not missing anything substantial, to begin with.
