Sorry if this has already been answered but can zombiU be played just on the game pad because I want to have the wii u in the living room but I have a little sister and don't think she should watch that so I wouldn't be able to play it
There is a list of games on the internet that shows what launch games that can be played on the controller. ZombiU was not one of them. Call Of Duty and Mario where 2 games on the list I can remember at the top of my head.
Well, that sucks, after Nintendo having advertised that you aren't restricted to the TV to play games, as only a select set will actually do that.
Well that's probably leaning more to the games in which the gamepad wouldn't be as much of the main focus(or the developers don't want to be as bothered with making something useful out of it, sadly), so it wouldn't really hinder gameplay as much if you decide to not use the second screen. Games like ZombiU really seem to be trying to utilise it the best they can though.

So, uh, to answer the topic the answer is unfortunately no.

Most games (I think almost all of them) allow off-tv play but ZombiU doesn't. It will be difficult to design the game without. I'ts commendable that Mass Effect 3 and Arkham City:AE which also use the game pad a lot managed to pull it off though.
But ZombiU is similar to Lego City Undercover or Nintendo Land in that way, it is absolutely integrated.
