Developer Commentary:
"A Hat in Time is a 3D collect-a-thon platformer in the spirit of the beloved Nintendo and Rare games from the Nintendo 64 era. Think Banjo-Kazooie, The Legend of Zelda and Super Mario 64 all in one!. Like many of you, we grew up with those games and became fascinated by their huge magical worlds. We want to re-create that feeling of exploration and excitement. Many modern titles simply don't have the same magic and wonder as games from the 90's - we want to change that! "
A Hat In Time recently surpassed it's Kickstarter goal of $30,000. And It did so in only two days. And for those of you who know of its existence. What are your thoughts on it to date, and would you personally be interested in seeing it arrive on the Wii U?. Since developers have already mentioned that besides getting it onto Steam they're also severally interested in publishing it through the eShop for the Wii U.
Personally I think I'm in love with what they've created to date, they seem be a talented new indie group. And their game looks incredible, especially when you consider the fact that what they've created so far was with only a $0 Budget. So I'm looking forward to what they create within the next few years,
I believe they've personally voiced their want to release to Wii U.
And with the indie support Nintendo is currently offering to developers it's quite possible that we may see this game appearing onto the eShop sometime in 2014

My thoughts exactly,
What they've created amongst the eight of them to date with only a 0$ Budget honestly looks superior to many of the games we get on the market today. Games that to often have several million dollars placed into them. So from the looks of it "Gears For Breakfast" may well become one the more notable Indie teams to be seen in recent years

Yup, this is going to turn out great!
Its hit the 95,000 stretch goal: full voice acting. Also, a new stretch goal at $150,000. Its a song by Grant Kirkhope, who made the music for games such as Banjo Kazooie and Donkey Kong 64, to be put in the game.

I am a little nervous about the Wii U version because I want to get the two copies and have it for both my PC and Wii U
Yeah, same with me. I guess I could just give my other copy to someone else if there isn't an option. :

After personally watching the hour long GameGrumps "Interview" with Grant Kirkhope myself this pleases me immensely. And I feel his sense of enjoyment and humour will mesh perfectly with what they've created thus far. And it'll certainly be interesting to see just what type of tune he'll create for them. Seems like they really have managed to bring back the N64 Era of Gaming with this little indie gem
As the Kickstarter campaign is shortly coming to an end we feel that it is necessary to clarify the Wii U situation as we know some of you are waiting to hear confirmation before backing us. We have been contacted by several companies who have expressed an interest in helping us bring the game onto the Wii U platform. However we are still in early talks with them and therefore we cannot give you a definite answer as these negotiations take months to sort out. We would like to add that people from Nintendo of America have shown an interest in our game due to your massive support!
Keep in mind that there are several hurdles we must overcome before the game can be put on the Wii U. Firstly we must obtain a license for the Unreal Engine, and it’s been known to cost $500,000 and up, then we must apply to Nintendo to get access to their development kits which are necessary to port the game over to the Wii U. This is why we are talking to publishers as hopefully they can give us access to their development kit as well as licenses in return for a share of the games income.
We want to express that we really want the game to be on the Wii U or other additional platforms however it would not be fair to commit ourselves to this promise until further negotiations have taken place. In the meantime we are continuing to work hard on producing a game that you will all come to enjoy and love!
So the game won't be coming too the WIi U anytime soon. I'm so confused why they didn't look into the Unity/Wii U dev kit thing nintendo has been doing.
WAT!

I really, really hope this game garners a Wii U release. I wish they'd just add that as a Kickstarter goal, allowing contributors to specify which version they want.
In other (quite) exciting news,
Their latest Commentary (And a peek at Chapter Two) just arrived:
Though they also happened to recently release an image of their "physical" boxset,
Which happens to have a lovely N64-like feel to it, adequately retro really.
So do enjoy, because it's all sorts of wonderful
Well, they hit the Grant Kirkhope stretch goal. They probably won't make it to hub world though, considering we've only got a week left.
