i bought one from ebay once. it was crap. made a noise the whole time it was on and it had a lot of trouble with the IR sensor. can't remember the brand, sorry, but i would say they are typically not as good. it will probably get the job done, but not as reliably.
also, most of the cheap ones ship from china so you will be waiting a while. it's only $20 for the real one isn't it?
You're better off just buying used official controllers and using a coupon to get it cheaper.
I've heard of some problems with 3rd party accessories. It's better to just bite the bullet and buy Nintendo brand remotes and stuff.
There's a $10 off on a $40 or more purchase at Target in my local ad. Just look for deals like that, GameStop deals, or reward coupons.
Stay away from third party controllers unless it's custom made just for you, then it's probably better...but then it'll be around $100+. Even with custom controllers though, people often use first party controllers and have that modded.

End note: Don't get third party controllers
This, I may not own a wii u yet (gf is buying one later this month) but Ihave owned every recent console since n 64,ps1 era - ps3 and dreamcast and have never seen a third party controller that was worth anything. They either broke fast and most felt cheap.
