I bought Fist Of The North Star form the eshop and it's going to take like 20 hours to download a 12GB game. I started it at 6 PM yesterday and it's 3 AM how and it's not 50% done. I have downloaded games around 12GB and large software before on other systems and it usually only takes around 3 to 4 hours tops for anything to download. They got to fix this slow download time it shouldn't take this long. Holy Cow Nintendo!.

It's funny cause Skyrim (I don't even know how many gigs but I know it's a lot more) took me 4-5 hours to download. AT&T is my service provider.

If it took 20 hours, then it's your fault.

You downloaded Skyrim on to your Nintendo Wii U?

I NEVER KNEW THIS WAS RELEASED ON WII U!!!!!11!!!

Excuse me while I go check out the awesome gamepad features Bethesda could throw into this game.

To be fair, sometimes people have no clue how do s***, then complain to everyone involved that it could be their fault. 'My Wii U is downloading slow, it's Nintendo's fault', is not the answer to a crappy internet connection, especially if it's your end with the problem.
Your Xbox Live/PSN is being slow, it couldn't be your internet connection, could it?

So did you read the original posters post, where he said his games download nice and fast on his other consoles?

these people seem to be saying that the only time they get slow downloads is when they are using nintendo. it couldn't be on nintendo's end, could it?

We should all know by now that Nintendo's consoles are picky. If you get your Wii U to work at optimum speed, chances are your other consoles have been lacking, and you just didn't know it. One time, my PS3, Xbox 360, and 3DS were all able to connect to the internet no problem. The next day, my 3DS stopped working online, but my Xbox 360 and PS3 still could. I updated my router, and my 3DS started working. Whether I updated my router or not, wouldn't have mattered on Xbox 360 and PS3, but the update mattered to the 3DS.

I need to go to the library to download large games, my internet is just way too slow.. Like it takes 15 hours to download a game like Trine 2. I wish we had better internet service out here in rural areas..

Not really. You're Xbox 360 or PS3 can connect to the internet regardless and work at a DECENT rate. 3DS requires the best of settings to work at all. It is in fact the user's internet being the problem.
If you can get your Wii U and 3DS to work with no hitches, you will never have a problem with other consoles.
Say your Xbox 360 downloads a 10 GB game in 2 hours. Your Wii U downloads the port of that same game, that is now 11GB because of the Gamepad controller, and is slightly inproved overall. It takes 4 hours. You wonder why it takes so long, and decide the Wii U sucks. My PS3 takes just as long as my Wii U to download games. Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition took around 7 hours to download, while Tekken TT2 took nearly the same ammount of time to download as well. They were only 1GB difference in data.

...So the Xbox and PS3 do download faster than the Wii U, yes? So I don't get the argument, @Bankai is right in that regard, Nintendo needs to improve this, it's a flaw.

No, you proved my point.

Consoles that don't connect to their routers easily are poorly designed consoles. That's Nintendo's fault. The only devices I have ever had any trouble with with the Internet is Nintendo consoles.

I shouldn't have to go and mess with my router to make stuff work. This isn't the Internet of the 1990s. Stuff is expected to work. Except for apparently Nintendo where people will still find ways to excuse poor design.

Alright, lets just give up because it's too difficult.
I can get just as fast of download speeds from my Wii U as PS3. Go fix your internet if it's that important to you.

Seriously guys? Do we have to turn every thread into an argument? Look, if you don't like something, just give your 2 cents and move along. Nobody wants to here a laundry list of why it stinks in your eyes. :{

I foresee what you'll do there.

I'am sorry to add fuel to the fire but this is not actually possible, the speed is throttled on nintendo's end, (sony is too btw just not so much) check here http://speedof.me/ and see. For arguments sake heres mine:

PC 44.62mbps
PS3 23.4 mbps
Wii U 8.88 mbps

Hopefully Nintendo ups the download speeds in their system updates..
