@Grumblevolcano I think when you look at all that it's hard to say that E3 is in a perfectly healthy position. The two biggest 3rd party publishers (as well as obviously Disney as well as Square-Enix not being as prominent as they have been in the past) and 1/3 of the console companies (even more galling when they have a major thing in the works to show sometime this year) deciding that E3 isn't worth it it spells out more than a pattern to me. Of course there are 'reasons' (excuses) for each doing what they're doing, EA and Activision doing their own things and they will still have presence in others' presentations, Nintendo being 'irrelevant' for the so-called 'real hardcore gamers' and Disney being the definition of irrelevant as they have basically said they give up on video games not too long ago. So there are reasons for each, but I don't see this E3 as anything but a symbol for the future when taken on the whole, and it's not a good one.

@TheLastLugia If Nintendo didn't care about E3, they would have dropped it entirely. Their only presence at E3 is a game that won't even release this year. That's a joke, and the only reason they're doing this is probably to secure their floor space for next year. The fact that they didn't drop out completely tells me that they do care about E3.

Disney has no reason to be at E3, since the closed their own gaming studio, so I'm not sure what you're trying to prove by including that one in your list.

@Octane Well that's the two 'irrelevant' ones you've somewhat justified there, so well done. But I thought the point was not to assess each companies quality of offerings, but rather look at the show as a whole and how weak it is compared to when it was at its peak when each company would've killed for any space at the event. Paint it however you will, but if you go back 10 years or possibly even as recently as 5 and said that this would be the state of E3 in the near future, I don't think the organisers and producers of the show would be content with it and just let it play out to how it's become. They'd be horrified I'd have thought.

I don't know about you guys but i really feel that nintendo is trolling us on this one , i mean there is no way that they won't be showing some footage of pokemon sun and moon or the new monster hunter or yokay watch or the new splatoon update along with more collabs and some interesting indie games , notably yooka-laylee.

@Grumblevolcano They can't show the NX yet, what if Microsoft or Sony copies their ideas? I bet they'll reveal the console after its release!

Maybe they will pull a EA and have something across the street that is just Nintendo lol

Time to revive this thread, Nintendo's E3 is not just Zelda U/NX! Footage confirmed for Sun/Moon, Monster Hunter Generations, TMS#FE, DQVII and more!

@Grumblevolcano yet no mention of color splash or fed forces. I know they aren't too well received but when iwata died did he take Nintendo's stones with him?

I mean why make the game at all if you aren't gonna have the confidence to show or talk about it?

@WebHead I think both will be there, just part of the "more". It's like how there's obviously going to be indie stuff such as Axiom Verge.

Also Nintendo has a private business thing at e3. So nx will probably at E3 after all...just not for public.

If I hold out hope for one thing , it is that they show Federation Forces with some polish. What has been revealed so far is intriguing but rough . It has been far too long for a Metroid game even if what we are getting seems to be different from what everyone wants . @WebHead

Since Pokémon GO is being showcased, do you think we may get our first look at other mobile projects (the Fire Emblem & Animal Crossing games), or just Pokémon GO since Pokémon is sort of a special case within the company?

@RR529 Just Pokemon Go. I don't think they're quiiitttee ready yet to show off the Fure Emblem & Animal Crossing games. Won't be too long after though.

Pretty crazy how things have ended up on the Nintendo front. This time last year, I was hyped for E3 because of the possibility of more MK8 and Hyrule Warriors Wii U DLC yet this year I'm hyped for exactly the same reasons.
