Activision in the early 80's: "It was the best of times. It was the worst of times."
Wavio: Yeah, actually it was $61 for Pirates of Dark Water* SNES w/ box but I see that didn't cross over from the previous page. I paid $50.00 shipping for Gimmick which I wished I picked up from Timewalk earlier. It is a real shame it never made it to the West outside of a few European countries. Sunsoft's soundtracks are thee best when it comes to the NES. From what I have played so far, I think its a game you would really like.
@ogo79: That's because I went in there and bought almost everything because of how rich I am from being an original supporter of your "rare downloads" program.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.

Thanks @ogo79 ... however, that is not the version I need. The version of Skiing on my list is this one:
I probably should have been more specific on mentioning that I needed the blue-label variant, since the standard copy of Skiing technically has a "blue label"
The variant version is apparently crazy hard to find (despite it incorrectly only being rated a 3 on the Atari Age rarity scale); I've seen that it's often the only one of the Activision variant-label carts that people can't find to complete their collection. Thanks for looking out though!
@the_shpydar
i had a feeling it was the wrong one, i came home and looked it up only to see the one i picked up lol.
ill just put it on the rare downloads virtual console, and make enough money to buy a lime tree. im hearing limes are getting rare...

@Pianomanfreak - I played that,... unfortunately. My least favorite Mickey Mouse platformer, if only for its repetitive cutscenes, cheap structure, poor story, and an ending so insulting that it makes the disappointing letdown of an ending from The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse look preferable by comparison. But if you do end up liking that game by the end of the day, then more power to you, different strokes for different folks. I personally found it to be mediocre fare with very good visuals. Capcom only published the American version, but they themselves did not make it (despite what the end credits say, they would not produce something as unpolished as this).
I honestly preferred Castle of Illusion starring Mickey Mouse. The gameplay was simple but intuitively polished, the visuals are good and charming, the soundtrack is nice, each stage felt about equal in length, three difficulty settings (that get more challenging the more you go), and the ending was rewarding. To me it's one of those near-perfect Disney titles.
While The Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse is technically better soundwise and the gameplay was polished but more involving, it suffers from having most stages being longer than others, a timer that had no reason to be there at all, a very frustrating boss to fight on Hard mode (but is manageable), and a payoff in the end that was a slap in the face considering the buildup before it was engaging and genuinely good (I don't care if it was the first Mickey Mouse platformer Capcom developed, that's not an excuse). The visuals looked nice though, and it is fun while it lasts, but it's not anywhere near perfect by a longshot. I honestly preferred its two successors The Great Circus Mystery starring Mickey & Minnie (weak buildup, good payoff, I'll admit; soundtrack is worse, though) and Mickey & Donald: Magical Adventure 3 (where it had both a good sense of buildup that was equally as good as its payoff, imo; also the worlds were better and the soundtrack was improved).
So once I figure out a situation for using the Power Base Converter I got awhile ago... well, I figured I might as well get a "big" game for it. Phantasy Star. I think loose is expensive enough for me. Though at this point it's probably no longer the highest demand game for the system (though still high). But anyways, and I also ordered Golvellius CIB.
@Ryno - ah, Mega Man. My fifth favorite in the original series canon after V (the game that introduced Beat), IV (the game that introduced Eddie, one of my favorite side characters in the series), II (the game that perfected the formula), and III (the game that introduced us to the greatest thing the series had to offer: Proto Man............. oh, and Rush too). It may not have had a password system or even eight bosses like Capcom had intended during production, but it laid the foundation for the series in terms of its nonlinear structure and variety of power-ups, which I like. It also marked the debut of (fan-favorite for some reason) Guts Man. I haven't played Bucky O'Hare on the NES, but I hear that it's Konami's equivalent of Mega Man, which does have me intrigued.
Metal Walker for the Game Boy Color was really rare on eBay, but thankfully a local shop had a good copy for $5. I even had enough money left over to pick up Revelations: The Demon Slayer for the GBC as well.
@GanonDorf
Is that Golden Axe Warrior for Sega Master System I see there? Very nice, I am jealous. That game is not only hard to find, but usually command a very hefty price. Kudos on your haul!
@GanonDorf - I notice that among your haul you got Pilotwings, Sonic 3, Tomb Raider, the superior version of Virtua Fighter 2 (in that it's not 2D like the MegaDrive/Genesis conversion), three variants of Mortal Kombat, and even Golden Axe II. I like that game and find it very underrated, for it's always gotten unfair criticism for being just like the predecessor, the equivalent of Home Alone 2;... okay, they're not too far off there, but I find it to be more polished and more fun than the first Golden Axe personally. If anything, it's a much better Home Alone 2-like sequel than Final Fight 2 (or as I'd like to call it: Final Fight 1.5).

Yes it is! Unfortunately cart only and not in top condition. But I only paid €12, so I'm very happy
