I do like the button layout on the gamepad. That much I will say.

5 years on and I still don't get why SNES games were New 3DS exclusive.

Your first anything is important; a memory you don't want to forget. That's what makes nostalgia such a fascinating concept. That's why many people enjoy games that have aged well.

@Luigi05 if you didn’t understand it 5 years ago then you will never understand it 😉

@Luigi05
Because the original 3DS is not capable of playing SNES games stably. Yes, it can play them, but not at a steady framerate. The SNES was well known in the emulation scene for being very demanding and a pain to work properly on PC hardware for years. It wasn't until the mid-2000s for freelance programmers to finally figure out how to get every game to be playable at a consistent 60 hertz and with little to no graphical glitches.

@gcunit Ok, Ok! The SNES was an amazing system! Am I The only one who really likes the USA SNES design?

@Link-Hero Oh, thanks. I just assumed it was an attempt to get people to buy the new model.

@d0nkeyk0ng_jR You aren’t alone. I prefer the US version to the super famicom. Wonderful library although too many games that died on that system.

Mainly licensed games (some which are very good like Sailormoon: Another Story or just forgotten gems like EVO) but I still have to dig out my system from time to time.

Hi everyone! Just to keep everyone interested and keep conversations going, I'll pe posting a question every week! So for this week's question: What is the SNES's best feature in your opinion?

Batman Returns was the first game I ever played on SNES (and one of the two games I owned straight up).

A classic beat 'em up, probably (definitely?) not meant for children, but I loved the game to death as a kid. Still do.

  • Saving on cartridge (remember how much of a pain passwords were?)
  • Multiplayer (had some kickass times on Super Mario Kart, et al.)
  • AV connectivity - no more tuning the console into the TV which could take forever
  • The graphics were great for the time on a lot of titles
  • Controller was a lot more comfortable than the NES one in my opinion
  • And the durable controller - threw it in rage that often as a kid and it never busted

@Tendo64 I remember seeing an ad for that game in one of my old comic books, I might wanna check it out> My personal favorite is Super Mario World.

I'm very old (and child-like, ask my mrs ) and I bought the jap snes when it came out from an import shop in Streatham... can't remember the name of the shop.
I bought the console with (obviously ) SMW, a golf game and, I seem to recall, F-Zero.
My favourite console ever.
