Which is better: Sonic Adventure or its Gamecube remake?
I never had a Dreamcast, so I've only played the remake. It's cool, combining adventure elements and platforming. I especially like the unlockables. So far I've only unlocked Sonic the Hedgehog GG, which is cool since I had one as a kid.
Anyway, would it be worth it to get a Dreamcast for the original, or should I stick with the remake?

The DX version has slightly better graphics, slightly improved Chao mechanics, Mission Mode, the ability to be played on a current-gen console, and I'm not sure if the Game Gear games are in the original version. There's no reason to get the original version over the GameCube port. For similar reasons, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle is also better than the original Dreamcast version.
Ash: Professor Oak, how's your Bulbasaur?
Prof. Oak: Oh, it only hurts when I sit.
...
Prof. Oak: It's only Chansey if Krabby won't let go. Bye, now.
Ash: I don't think I'm going to call him anymore.
I liked the sequel better, and the first one was meh. The graphics just weren't that good for a port. I think the Dreamcast one may be better, but I never played it.
FF6: Release year- 1994 Kefka's birthday - November 9th So.... my life is practically mirroring Kefka? Cool.
Better? Sonic Adventure DX. Because of the mission mode.
As what it currently says in my signature, I'll need to be getting all of the 130 Emblems to unlock Metal Sonic. After that, I'll now do Sonic Adventure 2 Battle to get all 180 Emblems.
Best thread ever. Currently Playing: Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Paper Mario (VC), Zelda: Majora's Mask (VC)
I say the Dreamcast version. Although the frame rate is less, it is more stable overall. That horrible dropping from 60fps in the GC version bugged me, and GG sonic crashed due to dodgy emulation. Getting 180 Emblems in SA2 is almost impossible, but it has the best un-lockable ever...

I prefer SA1 as I like the free roam, the pinball, playing as Tails without riding a robot, and Knuckles' part being less tedious. This from SA2 I found funny to watch, using Eggman's garden gameplay controls on Sonic's level.
SA1 because it had the VMU with Chao Adventure. Like the Pokewalker, only better. Tbh, i've never played the GCN remakes. I wouldn't get a DC just for those, unless the GCN version is really glitchy or something. The DC version runs well, I think.
I have a demo of Sonic Adventure DX and it's horribly glitchy (frame-rate and camera especially) and the graphics don't seem to have as much polish or colour as the DC original either. Whether that's also the case on the final version I don't know, but from that experience I've always assumed SEGA messed up the port?
@TokenGirl I tried to get 180 in Sonic Adventure 2 for so long, became an obsession and got to about 175. The Chao races were the ones, so difficult. Then, I bought a second hand VMU and someone had left a 180 emblem Sonic 2 file on there - as I say, best unlockable ever. If you can still get your dreamcast online just download it, it is almost impossible after all!
