I found Lords of Shadow to be a wonderfully dull experience.
thats because you played a yucky new game, you should be more like me and become close-minded/shallow and automatically dismiss any new games. thats why everyone here loves me

And yes, he is (usually) always right, and he is (almost) the sexiest gamer out there (not counting me) ;)

Also agree with him that no one is seriously that sick of the subgenre. At most, I think Konami is just tired of making them. I meam, for one thing, outside of indie games, we don't really get that many commercial Metroidvania games to begin with, and what few we do get are consistantly great. I'd find it hard to believe that people are in anyway tired of them, the same way the majority of gamers (as in people who play games) aren't tired of Madden or Call of Duty. So long as it stays good, it won't be a problem.
dont be mad, it takes less energy to love than to hate
until next time, happy retro gaming from oldgamesonly79!

Yeah Metroidvania games, even ones where the Metroidvania elements don't work or even actively go against what works for a series (looking at you Amazing Mirror) tend to pretty great. Barring Zelda-likes, I don't know of a genre so consistently good (probably because like Zelda-likes, they aren't that popular outside of the series its named after).
I tend to not want a series to go back to being nostalgic just because of a failure, but after LoS2, please go back to this style Konami. And let me download Order of Ecclesia somewhere.
