I really don't understand people that sell their games right after they beat them.
It could be because they're done with the game and they feel the need to move on. I could be wrong though.
Have you ever heard of replay value?
Yes Exactly! I always, always no matter how many times I beat a game, some months or years later I get the itch to play it again. The Resident Evil and Zelda Games are perfect examples of this.

Another really good point! I think the most I have ever made of a single game at Gamestop was maybe $5.00. I have sold no more than 7 games and they have all been relevant videogames especially for that time and you make absolutely no money. All those games combined I haven't made the profit of one single game ($50.00) For this reason alone, I will never sell a game, to gamestop at least.
Selling old games to Gamestop will result in low cash back. Selling Halo 4 and other new games results in nearly $40 cash back, which is what most people do. Then there's online retailers and renting services.

@Tasuki I can't sell games to my friends, because I would be feel extremely awkward driving the price up on them...
Well if you do that than yeah. I am not going to sell a game to a friend if they can get that game for 20 bucks at Gamestop for example. But if I sold it to them for 10 dollars well I get more than GS would give me and they save ten dollars themselves.

Good point, $10 still sounds really low, but it is still better than I have ever done at gamestop. @CactusJackson
I understand that in order to make the big bucks back from Gamestop, you have to sell it fairly recently after it comes out, but isn't that pretty much defeating the purpose of buying the game if you only want it for not even a month??

Keep in mind that these are older games. Like for example I just sold a friend of mine my copy of Marvel Ultimate Alliance for 10 dollars. If say for example If was a new games like Halo 4 I would probably sell it to him for 35 to 40.

well i bought starfox adventures again after selling it YEARS ago slaps face cant recall anything else other then that from looking at my huge library of games, its never leaving again now that im ascertain that im a gaming collector now so anything i get or buy never goes out
just remebered i also bought super mario world for the snes but that was the case of the game being stolen somehow when i was younger
i also rebought an n64 with 007 goldeneye and donkey kong 64 slaps self for selling that too
@CactusJackson You might do that, but the rest of us don't. I for one have kept 95% of the games i've ever bought, i'm only 20 but I have a fairly big collection and I ain't ever getting rid off it, so there's no use in convincing me to sell. I have awesome taste, so most of the games in my collection are top tier games e.g. Chrono Trigger (DS), Pokemon Blue, Final Fantasy 1/2/3/4/6/four heroes of light etc, they're IMO some of the best i've ever played and I aint giving them away.
As for games I sold and bought back, I sold Final Fantasy 1&2 Dawn of Souls in the early 00's because I didn't understand any other battle systems at the time other than Pokemon, but after buying a PSP and FF1 & 2 seperately (then selling those towards my first 3DS), I decided to hunt down a boxed copy of the GBA versions and i'm never letting them go, I love the earlier Nintendo FFs more so than the Playstation FFs.

Mario Kart DS - Probably one of the best Mario Kart games in the series. I enjoyed it so much (still have)
New Super Mario Bros DS - The game that inspired me to get the Wii Version. (Still Have)
I sold Conker's Bad Fur Day when I got rid of a bunch of my old games years ago, and of all twenty or so that I got rid of that day, that's the only one I regret selling. I got like $15 for it at the time. I hadn't played it in a while, so I figured I'd get something back for it. Now even an "Acceptable" one goes for $60 on Amazon.
