Has anybody else ever started up an old game just to get a taste or quick nostalgia hit and the next thing you know, you're playing through the whole thing? I find this happens to me frequently; last week i started up NES Rygar for a lark, next thing i know its a few hours later and i'm almost at the end of the game. This week, i found my GBA copy of FF VI, started it up just to really watch the opening (and to refresh my memory as to which one is FFIV and which one is FFVI, lol) and now i'm like 6 or 7 hours in and all my other games have been pushed aside (i'll finish DQIV and GTA:Chinatown one of these days!)
Earthbound...was planning on just poking around again just for fun and now about halfway through the game. Oh and Pictobits, I played thru every level again when just meant to play one.

I don't remember the last time I did that, but I know it's happened. Some games can just suck you in like that.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
A few months ago, I got the SNES cartridge back of Super Mario Allstars/Super Mario World from a friend who had it for a couple of years. It was so long ago, I though I lost it (already bought another one on eBay). So when I got it back, I decided to try it out. Some hours later, I finished Super Mario Bros.
I just started Ape Escape 3. I guess I'll go ahead and beat the game, I haven't played it in FOREVER. I miss this series...

With the recent event of Michael Jackson's death, I decided to pick up Moonwalker again, just to try it again. I could never get past the stage 3-2 boss fight, but somehow I did and before I knew it, I Beat It. (hahaha, get it?)

I don't make a habit of plugging in a game intending to play only part of it. But I think I have been drawn into a puzzler or three for longer periods than intended, probably.
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
Sometimes I pop into Zelda:OoT for no reason other than to just beat a dungeon or ride around the field. Actually, it was Super Mario 64 the last time. A friend was doing a rather sad job getting the first 8 stars, so when he gave up I just had to make up for it!
Today I just started playing Bully. I thought I was just gonna play it for a few minutes, but the next thing I know I have been playing it for 5 hours.

@fudgenuts #17: Nice! I actually just finished playing Bully recently, definitely sucks you in much more than i expected -- i've found myself still playing like an hour after i had decided to take a break.
One night I picked up Pikmin just to mess around, and suddenly discovered it was dawn already.
Also, a few days ago I started playing God of War just to fight the hydra, and I end up replaying half of the game; maybe I'd finish it this time, I quit the game, when I had like 3/4 of it, cause I just can't stand Kratos and the story is a bit meh imo, but I like the gameplay is good.
This actually just happened to me last night with Killer 7. I thought that was a one-time play-through, just because the gameplay is so tedious at points, but that game is great. One of the true cult classics in video games. I also picked up Master Quest again a few days ago, but I remembered I was in the water temple...
still, that didn't stop me from playing it for an hour or two and still not figuring it out.
