Topic: Will you trade in your PSP for a Vita?

My local Gamestop is offering 60 Euros trade in when you buy a Vita for you PSP. Do you think that's good value?

I still use my PSP frequently for playing mostly minis and retro games, I also use it as a kind of portable media hub, so it's quite valuable to me. Though I don't really see the point in keeping it if I'm going to buy a Vita, I also want to keep it for some reason. Especially as i don't even know if all my games will transfer successfully to the Vita.

So what are you guys going to do? Keep your PSP and get a Vita, trade it, or maybe not even buy the Vita and stick with you PSP?

I'm keeping my PSP and buying the Vita. Reason being, the Vita store offers PSP games for around £20/Euros each. If you look on Amazon, you can get the very best PSP games for £10/Euros from Amazon and the like. I will definitely be buying a Vita around launch though, it looks like an amazing system!

That makes sense. Hopefully some PSP games like Tactics Ogre and Kingdom Hearts will finally come down in price after the Vita comes out.

I won't be. I've got a FF edition fat PSP for UMD games and a PSP Go which I prefer for playing Minis and PSOne games. PSP Go is by far the better of the two IMO.

LOL @ comparing Sony's official prices to Amazon's discounted prices. Apples and oranges, my friend.

Not really. Sony have plenty of sales and the Essentials range is cheaper on the PSN Store. For example Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is currently £3.99 on the store, that's not bad.

No since the Vita can't play UMDs (right?) only digital PSP games and I have several UMD games.

No, because a Vita can't play Birth by Sleep.

I'm not gonna buy a Vita anytime soon, but if I actually was going to get it, I'd definitely keep my PSP. Because that can actually play Birth by Sleep and Crisis Core.

I've only had my PSP for barely a year. No way I'm selling this thing.

.... or something like that.

Even if I had one I wouldnt trade it in. I learned long ago never to traded in a system you will only end up regretting it later.

But the Vita and PSP are pretty much the same thing. The only difference (besides the power and graphics) is an extra analogue stick and a touchscreen.

And the DS and 3DS are the same thing but an added circle pad and 3D effects but I still kept my DS.

In the 3DS' case, it can play all of the DS and DSiWare games, so there's no point in owning those old systems.
