Yeah...whose contest ARE we talking about? All I know is, Modern Warfare had a "Game of the Year" edition, just like Oblivion and Fallout 3 have. I assumed that meant they were the "Game of the Year' winners for their respective years.

Ah, GameSpy also gave Fallout 3 the title in 2008. They are NOT responsible for Oblivion's victory, however; I don't know who gave it that designation. This stuff is really WAY too much...which is why Slapshot82 and I are planning to a GOTY 2009 vote for Nintendo Life, split up by system for fairness! It'll be GREAT!

@Trevor_Fox: Trying to pick an overall would be WAY too hard, and potentially unfair to certain consoles. Because of this, we feel that one GOTY per system (plus one for multisystem) would be best.

Oh, forget the numbering on Call of Duty. It was totally F'd up from the start, since there were 2 unnumbered ones before they even went to Call of Duty 2.
