@Peek-a-boo Yeah, from a technical perspective it looks impressive. Just not a big fan of the design. Also no surprise this comes from the UK, they seem to be pretty good at robbing lorries

I just hope that the new slim PlayStation 4 is $249/€249/£249 whilst the 'Neo' goes back to the launch price of the PlayStation 4; $399/€399/£349, although the latter is likely to be £30 more due to the GBP taking a battering in the last couple of months.

I am not particularly happy with the PS+ membership price hike though, as $49/€49/£39 was more than enough, and we are not really seeing where all this investment is going.

Hopefully it signals that they are going to start dropping 'big releases' on PS+ on a more frequent basis.

Games like Knack, Killzone Shadow Fall, inFAMOUS Second Son, Driveclub, LittleBigPlanet 3, Watch_Dogs, Rayman Legends, Far Cry 4, The Crew, Assassin's Creed: Black Flag or Unity and some of the early LEGO games.

There's plenty to choose from!

@Peek-a-boo Inflation explains a part of the price hike. But if it's getting to the point where they're raising the price to include more expensive games, then I don't understand why they don't offer a cheaper ''only-online-play'' PS+ without the games. I already own the games I want, so I don't really need the free games, I already have enough games as it is. I think it's an issue that has two sides.

I'm a little disappointed that the DS4 didn't get much in the way of a redesign for this version of the console. Those options and share buttons are unacceptable. Also, a redesign that de-emphasized the touchpad would have made a lot of sense. Very few games use it, and when they do, it's not really important. Why give away so much of the controller's surface to it?

I'm also a bit shocked we haven't seen some equivalent of the Xbone's "elite" controller for the DS4. That seems like easy money.

@Peek-a-boo I doubt we'll get more AAA games. Sony knows that it can get away with a fairly substantial price hike with little to no repercussions since it's holding multiplayer hostage.

Anybody bought INSIDE on PlayStation 4 today?

All I know is that it's supposedly one of the best games of this year!

I also noticed that Alone With You is out today too. It is from the very same guy who did 'Home', which is a genuinely brilliant little game, and one that slowly builds a horrible sense of dread so very well.

Heads up: the Ni-Oh beta should be available for download today in NA. I'm looking forward to playing it tonight.

Is the PS4 Neo still going to come out this year? With the Slim, it seems like too much hardware being released all at once. Or was the rumor just new hardware this holiday, which could be the Slim?

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Grumblevolcano

@DefHalan The rumour was NEO specifically releasing same day as PSVR. It could be that slim is the new base model and NEO is the high end model releasing both on the same day.

Yeah, it looks like the current PS4 will be phased out for the slim and the NEO. Both will release this year I'd imagine.

@Grumblevolcano That is just a lot of hardware. Maybe if Sony is able to get the Slim out in November, then the Neo and PSVR out in October, it could work. I think if they release the slim before the Neo, there will be more confusion and people will buy the Slim thinking it is the Neo then complaining about it later.

Me being me, I bought both Alone With You and INSIDE.

Alone With You is a great little adventure game that is slowly unravelling a mystery as you go along, about both the planet you are stuck on and finding out who are the romantic couple who chose love (and to escape) rather than helping the rather uninhabitable planet become a small and livable colony.

So far, so good!

I only played INSIDE for ten minutes however, what strikes me most is the near photorealistic visuals and the incredible depth in the foreground and distance that this 2D strolling game conveys.

Seems very 1984-esque too.

Two rather great games! Quite glad I took the punt.

Deus Ex is very very very very good. I think it's the best-looking game on next gen short of Uncharted.

Most of it is PS3 though.

The RE games(Edit: And I guess Remember Me, which has become a very appropriate title by this point) might make it worth $15, but I have literally everything else in there. It's still by far the best bundle I've seen on that website, though. Except Lost Planet 3, but nobody liked that game.

Does anybody want all or most of the games outside of the 4 I mentioned (there were two RE games, in case you weren't keeping score)? I'm already willing to pay for the bundle, but I don't want 8+ codes to go to waste...

The original NEO leak said it would be coming around March 2017. It was only when we got leaks about all PS4 games released from September onwards requiring NEO enhancements that people started to talk about it coming this year.

So with Sony pulling down videos of the PS4 Slim (especially the video where a unit was booted up, apparently) and such, I guess I have to take off my skepticism hat and rejoice. I have asked for a smaller model for so long it's not even funny. And with players mysteriously getting their hands on the PS4 Slim at this point in time it's safe to say the model will be released this year - probably before Christmas. SOSOSOSO HAPPY.
Although, I must say... the Slim doesn't look that much smaller to the original model:

Unlike... the Xbox One S, for example:

And even previous Sony systems (I think I will stop with the pictures now for the data-conscious users but feel free to look up images online)
Untitled

BUT. I'm definitely not complaining. Anything smaller than the gigantic current PS4 model gets a thumbs up from me.

Are none of you playing Deus Ex? Let me make this very clear for you:

PLAY DEUS EX, SCRUBS!

Lol, seriously. It's easily one of the best RPGs this generation. Not to mention it looks better than any game short of Uncharted, being the only 8th gen game I can remember with a unique take on photorealism. And is it ever a breath of fresh air after all of these open world games! It's not forests and fields, but rather these dense city and industrial environments with vents, doors, and paths that snake around and fold in upon one another. Even in just the first five hours (there's your grain of salt) I've found so many different ways to complete each quest. And so much reading material, haha.
