Always good to hear TLG is still coming, as some people were worried about its release date.

I expected it to cost somewhere between €300 and €400, didn't think it was going to be more expensive than the console itself, but it looks like it is. We'll see how well it does, don't think I'll be a day one adopter.

@TheLastLugia: Yeah, wasn't expecting Battlefront.

I think the price is solid considering the tech involved, even if it isn't as good as the tech in the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive. That being said, I don't plan to buy one on launch day because I'd rather spend my money on some of the games coming in the second half of the year.

Also, I really do hope The Last Guardian makes it this year. Having both it and FFXV, which is rumored to release on September 30th, out this year would be fantastic. Been waiting for what feels like forever haha.

I wonder how much the bundle with the system and the VR will be? I am not interested, just wondering.

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

Apparently the PlayStation Camera is required for PSVR, but isn't included. If you don't have one yet, that'll raise the price a little as well.

Also, Horizon Zero Dawn still coming this year. Can't wait!

@IceClimbers: yeah that's my thinking too, I actually thought it would be considerably more expensive, so I'm glad for those who are invested in it that it isn't obscenely expensive, but I haven't been won over by it at all and would much rather have that £350 pay for a significant amount of my Q4 games, again presuming NX doesn't come and throw a wrench in that lol.

I just compare it to what I spent to get my Xbox One around that time last year and it puts things into perspective a little. I spent around £400 to get the system, a year's subscription to Gold and EA Access, Halo TMCC, Rare Replay, Sunset Overdrive and Ori and The Blind Forest (admittedly I also got £80 store credit towards that by trading in my 360 so it in reality cost more like £500). But still, can anyone say that PSVR and a few VR games day one will be better value for money than getting a new system even? Not even having to bring the PS Vita or Move into the equation I just couldn't justify even spending £200 on it, which is why I may never get it.

I think that's a mostly reasonable price. It was always going to be minimum $300. Now show me the launch games and you got a deal sony.

Not interested in VR at all, didn't care about The Last Guardian when it was first announced for PS3 and I sure as hell don't care now. Just get Horizon: Zero Dawn out this year. Not expecting it but it would be nice since after Uncharted that's the only upcoming PS4 exclusive I give a damn about.

H:ZD looks like it has the potential to be decent. Very excited for TLG.

As for PSVR... I'll wait and see what they do with it. Short of having several stellar killer apps on it, I'm not prepared to drop $400 for a headset.

Not really interested, though I suppose I better get my flame shield out for not only deciding not to buy something from Sony, but actually having the nerve to comment as such, well if past interactions on this thread have been anything to go by.

How old are you? Grow up.

My Birthday is conveniently in October and if I can sell my DSLR for a hundred pounds or more, I may well consider treating myself to one. I would definitely like to try before I buy though!

The price is $50/€50/£50 more I had hoped for, but I expected far worse too. All along, Sony openly said that the PSVR would cost 'as much as a new console' so, they were right about this.

It's a bit of a shame that they didn't show a bundled box that includes the camera and a Move controller (as well as the PSVR) however, at least we now know the release date and how much the headset costs.

The news of The Last Guardian and Horizon: Zero Dawn being released in 2016 is super good news too! It seems like this is going to be a pretty good year for their first party line-up.

Good times ahead.

I think VR will flop commercially, but personally I'm so excited about it. I don't usually buy hardware for at least a year after launch, but I think I might be day one for this.

@Peach64: I believe that the first wave will be very popular, all the way up till Christmas.

On the subject of sales, PSVR sold out in mere minutes upon going on sale on Amazon in both Germany and the UK! It's going to do pretty well on day one.

We have got the NX reveal to look forward to, the launch of the PSVR in October as well as the whole Xbox and Windows 10 bobbins that is due to happen at some point later this year.

First time I have been genuinely excited about all three companies for quite some time!

@Peach64: I don't think it'll fly off store shelves but wont completely flop either.

@Ralizah:
Nice to see PlayStation Lifestyle continuing to push its politically correct agenda. I can't stand that website. If it's a game that involves women who aren't covered from head-to-toe those writers cry about it on end.

Gamer83

Ralizah

@Gamer83: Not entirely true. Western games like GTA V that have strippers, hookers, and very explicit depictions of gendered violence in them get a pass, for some reason. I guess the difference is that Japanese games like SK are too cheerful about their fanservice. It's OK to look at naked women so long as you feel a sense of shame about it.

Jesus, these cultural marxists really are just left-wing puritans, aren't they?

I cannot wait to 'see' this on the PSVR; a music visualiser!

Just looking at it makes me feel trippy.

Or an underwater adventure...

@Ralizah:
I'd share my thoughts on their way of thinking but I also don't want to put a 2,000 word essay on here. I'll just say that the people out there who act like the content of something they won't even bother with leads to a less quality form of life are nutjobs. And I've actually had people tell me that the existence of games like SK or DoA can make women's lives worse. That's if you believe women really have it that bad here in America. I don't think they do but I'm a white male so I'm supposedly not allowed to have an opinion on social matters unless I'm agreeing with the politically correct quacks.

@Gamer83: How do you (and Ralizah) feel about this Dead or Alive volleyball game, which was recently announced as a PSVR compatible game?

Unfortunately, you can see where the whole issue arises from, seeing as the Dead or Alive volleyball game brings out the worse in men in just about any thread on the internet in regards to said game.

I know that these kind of 'digital porn-lite' games are popular in Japan however, it's something that strikes me as a collective of guys creating a game as part of their pervy fantasy or something.

Difficult subject, that's for sure. I don't personally play those kind of games myself, but I don't begrudge other folks who choose to play them either.

@Peek-a-boo:
It's existence doesn't bother me but from what I remember of the DoA volleyball series, the gameplay is straight garbage so I won't bother.

Apparently the development of RIME is more troubled than it seemed at first. It's quite possible that we'll never see that game again, or at least what was promised by Sony during E3 a couple of years ago.
