Apparently the development of RIME is more troubled than it seemed at first. It's quite possible that we'll never see that game again, or at least what was promised by Sony during E3 a couple of years ago.
A shame really, as it was one of the most interesting games shown when this new generation begun.
It felt like a little bit of ICO, The Wind Waker and an 'open island' puzzle game all rolled into one.
@Peek-a-boo: Regarding DOA Xtreme 3, my feelings are similar to @Gamer83. I've played Xtreme 2 and didn't care for it at all because of the terrible gameplay, so I probably won't be bothering with this one, either. With that said, entertainment that exists to titillate people has always existed in some form, and I can see no rational justification for opposing something on those grounds.
@Octane: RIME was one of the few indie games I was really looking forward to on PS4.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Gamer83: It depends. If there was never a game to begin with, then I don't think Sony should've shown this game when they did a couple of years ago. It's almost impossible to tell what really happened, and I don't think we'll ever know.
@Peek-a-boo: Yup, it had elements of many of my favourite games.
@Ralizah: Same here. Hopefully it's still in development as the dev seems to suggest, however; I believe it when I see it.
Argh, The Witness was starting to make me feel annoyed with the game (inside the Mountain) so, I put something relaxing on to play instead to take my mind off those troublesome puzzles.
It's still a beautiful experience after all these years...
Yes, Sony have only just started to hastily put together a slightly more powerful PlayStation 4 due to their sheer panicking over the NX that nobody outside of Nintendo knows about. It all makes perfect sense!
So now as a so-called 'early adopter' of the PS4 and Xbox One, as well as a Wii U owner, I am expected to shell out ££££££££££££££ on three new systems in the next year or so if I want the best experience. As well as buy a 4K TV if the PS rumour is true.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
I'm a flat out broke university student going to another country for a year of study from September to June. This couldn't have been timed worse for me, and it's safe to say that I am dead against this happening.
Still can't wait to see how Sony thinks they can reach 4K on this new system when the PS4 can rarely maintain the 'industry standard' as it says in the article of 1080p at 60 FPS! Oh and of course all the remastered games on PS4 being re-remastered in 4K! Oh joy of joys!
@Peek-a-boo: The one overlooking the river; might want to give that one another look
That puzzle you mention was pretty difficult, there's a lot of going back and forth between the two sides from what I remember, you solve the entire puzzle with the blue line first, but ''hand over'' more and more to the orange line if you get what I mean.
@TheLastLugia: If you do not mind me asking, where are you off to?
My brother did archeology at the university of Canterbury and spent a whole year in New Zealand as part of his four-year course, although he wasn't always 'studying' over there...
Onto the subject matter in question, I too am very much against these console '0.5' upgrades. This little hobby of mine is becoming increasingly expensive, and I have no desire to buy a new system quite so soon.
@Peek-a-boo: The university of Sorbonne in Paris, which I have been repeatedly told is one of the more expensive places in the world to find accommodation, even temporary. So all this PSVR, PS4.5, NX and Xbox hardware upgrade is very unwelcome. I was willing to give NX the benefit of the doubt once we know what it is but I'm feeling now like I'm better off just settling with what I have, because as you say it's been expensive enough already to have even one console with games, Season Passes, PS+/Xbox Gold. The line has to be drawn somewhere and this is mine.
@TheLastLugia: I'm feeling the same way to be honest, especially with my backlogs. Here's my yet to be 100% completed list for Wii U retail alone:
Sonic Transformed (Got to the really hard part of world tour, 100% complete on Xbox 360 though)
Wonderful 101 (Haven't started)
Super Mario 3D World (Beating Champion's Road with all characters except Luigi)
DKC Tropical Freeze (aiming for 200% completion, currently around 165%)
Hyrule Warriors (this game is neverending with all the DLC, spent over 500 hours already )
Bayonetta 1+2 (Haven't started)
Sonic Boom Rise of Lyric (Got bored but still want to finish)
Smash (3 challenges left including 2 grinding ones and 1 super hard one)
Captain Toad Treasure Tracker (Bonus book)
Kirby and the Rainbow Curse (Haven't started)
Splatoon (amiibo challenges)
Yoshi's Woolly World (getting all collectibles to unlock hidden levels)
Mario Tennis Ultra Smash (a few more courts and star characters to unlock)
Xenoblade X (Haven't started)
Twilight Princess HD (Currently in Gerudo Desert)
Pokken Tournament (Only completed the tutorials, still confused though)
So as you can see, a lot of them are just I've completed but want to go for full completion to get the most out of the game. Even back in the GC days, I always strived for 100% completion wherever possible and that's how I unlocked everything in F-Zero GX without visiting an AX machine (would've loved to have tried it out though, really cool concept).
@Grumblevolcano: Yeah my backlog is similar, even if you exclude games I've not yet started, and I've just purchased Fallout 4 for £20 today and that's a thing that will take up a lot of my time. Nevertheless I enjoy this buying games every now and then for cheap even if I may not get round to them, but albeit I did not for a second expect this gen to last as long as the last, I'm still not comfortable with what the latter half of the year has in store.
But as long as I can play Zelda, Persona 5, The Last Guardian, Sea of Thieves and Pokemon Moon late this year I'll be satisfied.
@TheLastLugia: Yeah, for Wii U there's Paper Mario Color Splash and Zelda U for the entire 2nd half unless more gets announced at E3 which I'm kind of doubting given the obvious NX focus.
@TheLastLugia: I do hope it goes well for you, even if it means your expenses will be prioritised elsewhere for the time being! It's always good to experience a new (overseas) culture too.
@Peek-a-boo: It's brilliant, isn't it? I think the game just started for you; It's easy to miss about half of the game, but I think you now know enough to keep going.
@Octane: I found another one by looking at a half-moon shape in a cloud halfway down the mountain, and by slowly lining up that particular cloud with the others (that begun to move), I saw a line puzzle in the clouds - if Jonathan wanted to Blow (ho ho) our minds, he did it with considerable ease!
On another note, I finally created the neon orange and blue paths, did some more puzzles down below, bumped into a stone-person sitting on the floor looking at a blank puzzle board (is this supposed to be a puzzle?) and walked out onto water to see those sphere/cylinder puzzles that are looking out into the sea.
They were surprisingly easier than I expected, apart from one that had me scratching my head, then I entered the angelic lift and that's the game 'done'.
And back into the white tube where you first begun...
Not sure how I should be feeling about this moment. I assume there's more to it than meets the eye?
