Topic: Street Fighter V

Who else is excited for the next installment in the Street Fighter franchise?

I want to be excited, but after they screwed up the PS4 version of Ultra Street Fighter 4 the exact same way they screwed up the PS3 version, I'm not too confident right now...

I'm actually pretty excited. I really enjoy the Street Fighter franchise and it's probably my favorite fighting franchise, if not tied with Smash. I really hope they include Juri as a fighter, as she was my favorite fighter from the last game.

Input lag. Pretty much one of the worst flaws you can have in a fighting game. Supposedly the latest patch fixed it, but I haven't heard anything from people who have played the game...because most people I interact with put it down as soon as it launched...

Ahh... Yeah, that's a major turn-off for me for a fighting game. I hope there is no input lag for Street Fighter V, because it looks really fun.

I really liked using Juri too. She's a fun character. Though, I was best with Cammy. Never had an arcade stick and I still beat a fair amount of people. This time around, I'm going to try to invest in one. One with official Sanwa parts!

I don't think we will have to worry about that with SF V since Capcom is handling it themselves. SF IV on the PS4 was outsourced to someone else hence why all the problems.

SFV is looking really good hoping to try the beta on a mates PS4.

This is one of the PS4 exclusives that I wish was going to be able to play on my XB1. I didn't really play fighters last gen but now I got the itch to get back into them.

I'm just going to stick to Mortal Kombat X until I'm REALLY impressed.

I have an XB1 and not a PS4 as well. I wish that was the other way around. The only reason I have an XB1 is because my girlfriend wanted it.

Not saying that the XB1 is bad! It's not! But, I definitely prefer the PS4. It's just my preference.

@TylerTheCreator: Not to to derail the thread, but do you have Killer Instinct? If so, what do you think? I know it is not Street Fighter but its still pretty fun.

Speaking of another fighter, I was just thinking it would be a good idea to have a general "Fighters" thread for discussions on all the fighters out now (Mortal Kombat, Smash, Killer Instinct) or soon to come (Tekken and Street Fighter). Maybe there is already one?

Pretty stoked but then again VF, SF and SC are my bread and butter. I'll be maining Ryu as usual but I am interested in the tweaks that Ken is getting. Waiting on more padhacking news so I can make a PC/PS4/XBO stick sometime next year.

I have never played Killer Instinct before. I know there's a new Killer Instinct for free on the XB1. I might try it sometime. I really need an arcade stick though. The fighting games I've played are Smash, Street Fighter, Tekken, Dead or Alive, Soul Calibur, and probably some more I can't remember right now.

@CanisWolfred: I was one of the many, many folks who purchased Ultra Street Fighter IV on day one and came away thoroughly disappointed with it, especially the occasional lag issues and the IQ being surprisingly washed out.

Now, however, it is genuinely brilliant. The lag is all but gone and the visuals seems to have been 'tidied up', for the lack of a better explanation. I used to play competitively (albeit causally) with the Alpha series so, I kind of know what I am conversing about.

Going by the hype at Evo in the past couple of days, Street Fighter V is going to be absolutely God-tier, no doubt about it. I was extremely excited about Street Fighter IV back in the day, but the hype is going through the roof with the fifth game in the series.

The PlayStation 4 is going to be home to the best fighters this generation by the looks of things; Guilty Gear Xrd is by far and away the best beat 'em up around at the moment, even though I am not particularly good at it! Not much of a fan of Mortal Komat X or Killer Instinct though.
