@FriedSquid Eh... It's a cool, funky tune but I'm pretty sure I've heard better than that. I would seriously thank Sega if they bring some SAdv3-like music.

@OdnetninAges Let's hope it doesn't require it. I don't think so since the reason why the SNES games couldn't be played on the 3DS had to do with emulation and not with it not being able to handle a 2D game adapted for it since the beginning.

@Vee_Flames Well I liked it a lot, and maybe it was more exciting to me when I first heard it. It reminds me of Sonic CD which is one of my favorite Sonic games and soundtracks of all time so... my excitement probably has something to do with that.

It's highly unlikely but I would be very happy if they had a version of the music that sounded just like Genesis music.

The last Sonic game I enjoyed was Sonic and Knuckles so, for me, Sonic Mania is looking fantastic!

I take that there will be new and original levels too? The trailer doesn't seem to imply if this is the case.

The less said about the other 3D game, the better...

What do you call Studiopolis?

I seriously hope Sonic Mania appears on the 3DS.
Maybe even as a New 3DS Exclusive, since there isn't much Software available for it.

If Sonic Mania sounds like a rejected '90s name, I think it sort of was.
I thought Sonic Mania Day was the launch day of Sonic CD, Spinball (Genesis) and Chaos (Game Gear) in the US.

Now that Renegade Kid split in two, I wonder if they're still willing to port the game to the 3DS.

Polygon uploaded full gameplay of Green Hill Zone and Studiopolis Zone without commentary. There's a bit of exploration in the footage, too.

@Randomname19 okay i know this post is from months ago but that game has awful physics and a whole lot of reused graphics it's not that good

I've watched all the gameplay footage so far and it looks incredible. This is the Sonic game I've always wanted.

For those who haven't seen them yet, here are the gameplay videos that Polygon recently uploaded:

I normally dislike dessert zones (I really didn't like Sandopolis in Sonic 3 & Knuckles), but Mirage Saloon actually looks like a lot of fun to me.

Although I somewhat wish this had a 32-bit 2D style (like as if the game was a 2D Saturn game), I am very excited about this game. Especially if the new upcoming 3D Sonic game is also a success. It'll be like the best of both worlds, and something to look forward to... I do have a good feeling that the controls will be tight in this, and that's all that matters - capturing the magic and feel of the originals, properly. Music also seems decent thus far. It's not easy topping the classics. I recently played through Sonic 2 (one of my favorites), but with Knuckles for the first time, using the Sonic and Knuckles cart. It was weird and great fun at the same time.
