@BruceCM Good choice. Now the question is a cheaper Xbox One S or 4K and better performance with Xbox One X? Or will you wait for Scarlett?

The S is a perfectly fine starting point, although I guess going for the X is the best option if you can wait for sales.

I have the S and can’t really complain about it, it’s served me well so far.

An S, @BlueOcean .... Then, by the time I'm running out of games, I'll be able to get decent deals on Scarlet

@BruceCM Good, the Xbox One S is the best value of this generation and with Game Pass you have a ton of 360 and Xbox One games to try including Rare Replay, Minecraft, Sea of Thieves and around 200 more games.

The ps5 and Xbox Scarlett were just announced. Wait for one of those.

Nah, by the time I run out of games for my XBox One S, @onilink86 .... Scarlett will probably have her 1st upgrade & be half the price pre-owned!

@BruceCM I have a 300+ game X1X backlog. By the time I'm done, Scarlett will be a "retro console"

@BruceCM That' doesn't even cover the PS4 & Switch catalogue! Though they are significantly smaller. The X1 catalog is a mix of X1 games, 360 games, OG XB games, the collection of free games. Nearly all of it bought on cheap sales Oh and some of that number is collections like Rare Replay that was a bunch of games in one "game."

I prefer Xbox because of Game Pass (you can sometimes get a month for $1), online, backwards compatibility and the UI. However, I find the PS exclusives to be overated. DOn't get me wrong, they're excellent but people can exaggerate.

I would say PS has better exclusives, but Xbox is great overall

If l was you, l would wait for PS5 to come out and then get that instead because on the PS5 you can play any type of PS games on it, like PS3, PS4, PS2, and more.
So go with that instead even ik waiting can be boring.

@BruceCM If cost is not an issue I would say wait and buy a PS5, which is already confirmed to play all PS4 games as well as coming PS5 games. There are also some rumors that it might even support older Playstation 1-3 titles.

In my opinion the Xbone has little to nothing over the PS4 aside for some limited backwards compatibility. PS4 has VR and a greater selection of exclusive titles compared to Xbone.

But that's just my opinion.

Cost is definitely a big factor, @Heavyarms55 .... Maybe, depending how PS5 goes, I can think about getting that when it's been out awhile & I can pick 1 up cheaper

@BruceCM In that case... I would still wait for PS5 because once it is out PS4 is bound to drop significantly in price.

PS4s & XB1s already get great deals regularly, as well as the pre-owned options.... Since I only have a Switch now, I want to get one ASAP I've decided on XB1 for now; potentially, if I can afford it later, I might pick up a PS4 as well but there's not really that many games I'd want for it
