Well I was just about to place an order for the Wi-Fi PS Vita from Amazon.com in the USA so that I could make a good saving of £70 over the UK RRP. Just before I clicked to confirm the order, I realised this may mess up the Vita. As the device uses technology like Near and Wi-Fi, would it affect me and not function correctly because I live in the UK and not the USA? I know that the 3G won't work and that is why I was buying a Wi-Fi one, but does anyone know if this would mess up any other functions too? I really don't want a Vita come launch that has half the applications not working...

Answers to your questions about the compatibility of apps may not come until after someone has tried it, ie after the Euro launch. I'd hold off and buy one from the UK. If customs get hold of it (and these days they are pretty hot on this sort of thing), then you're likely to be hit with additional charges which would wipe out your £70 saving anyway.

Haven't actually tried it, but I believe video games are one of the categories amazon says they do not allow sales to out-of-market customers.
I suppose the worst you'd get is to automatically have the order cancelled.
