So, when games for the PS3 are announced, does that mean they will be released on PS2 too? I was reading a magazine, and wondering that.

No, some games are, but some of the bigger titles like Metal Gear Solid or FF13 no because the PS2 wouldn't be able to handel the length/graphics/motion of the game.

There are games like Madden, Call of Duty, etc. that are released for both, but of course the hardware involved between the two is leagues apart.

You will start to see very little of the PS2 releases now that the PS3 has lowered it price. The PS2 is still one of the greatest systems around and they will prob still drop out games for years but Im afraid it will be few and far between.
