Topic: Project Natal or PS3 Motion Controller?

Natal is just plain stupid. NO CONTROLLER?!?!?!!? PS3 Motion Controller looks more promising and will be better for gameplay and not full of shovelware.

ban me for what? what did i say? im stating my opinion, which is perfectly legit on this site and saying BBC is stating facts? you guys are a bunch of babies...

I like both technologies...the PS3 wand's infa-red PS3-eye thing has be ECSTATIC due to the inherently awful/persistent problems with an IR pointer...being able to see it regardless of obstructions is gonna be awesome--but Sony doesn't exactly have a great track record of developing for their peripherals...of course I can't even think of any peripherals Microsoft has introduced thus far, so that worry is magnified a bit on that end. Like all peripherals, software will sell them. I can see the PS3 wand being more tempting (to develop for) due to the similarities with the Wii, but I think we'll see a lot more novel content for the Natal given that it's the most fundamentally different thing in terms of this new virtual reality-esque kick.

Don't call for people to be banned...just creatively make fun of them at every opportunity.

Both are rip offs from another company. Sony Wand is obviously a copy (possibly enhanced, have to wait until release to decide) of the Wii remote, and Natal is an enhanced version of the Playstation EyeToy from the PS2. Personally, I am more interested in Natal, I want to see what games can be like without a controller. AIR GUITAR HERO..... I can see it now.
Fighting games, first person games, they can all benefit greatly.

I can see them both flopping majorly, though, but only time will tell.

I find Natal kind of interesting and I am wondering how it will incorporate into First Person Shooters. The Wand I am not as interested in, but from what I read it works quite well.

I don't understand how first person shooters could work without tons of peripherals, but that kinda ruins the point of being controller free. But first person adventure games would be great. Maybe a first person fighting game.

Did anyone ever play that actual-motion fighting game that they used to have in the arcade at Disneyworld? It looked like Tekken...in fact it may have actually been a Tekken game with this control system, but you stood in a room and ducked/jumped/kicked, etc. and it kinda-registered.
If NATAL can do that well, I may have to suck it up, get over my Microsoft bias, and give it a shot.

Natal is quite the looker right now.

The PlayStation wand.... not so much.

If either one of them manages to nail what they are trying to do, and it's both fun and immersive, I too would have to swallow my pride and jump in.

All I know is that neither of them are going to reflect the success of the Wii.
Seeing that the Wii MotionPlus pretty much has 1-1 motion (it is literally impossible to have true 1-1) I'll never give the wand a chance. Not many games are going to be developed for it exclusively.
As for Natal, I'll give it a shot if good games come out for it, not above-average tech demos. It definitely seems more promising then the Wand. Like I said earlier though, Sony and Microsoft are not going to be happy sales-wise.

I might give Natal a shot depending on how much it costs. Scenario:
Me I would like to purchase a Natal unit please.
Cashier Alrighty would you like a Warrinty to go with that?
Me No Thanks.
Cashier Anything else today?
Me No.
Cashier Your total comes to $168.88
Me PUT THE DAMN THING BACK!
So price will be my deciding factor as well as the support it recives, I'll comment on Playstation in a little while!

I doubt that MS would make it only $30 less than the actual console.........

Really, with its hi-res I kind of think that expenses might be a little high
