We are getting closer to the end of the month... just one week left to recognize every single one of these big guns! It's a tough round alright, so how are you all getting on? So far there's 37 people playing, and two from this forum.
Here is the probably last set of hints:
1) Number 12 is originally an arcade game, but was also released on Dreamcast and Switch. 2) The planet in the background of #4 is Mars. 3) The screenshots 7 and 10 come from the Nintendo 64. 4) Title #5 was released in three parts.
So dear ladies and gentlemen, final sprint! We have 62 players, three from here... and on sunday this round finishes, so join now or game over.
1) Nobody has a full score! 2) Game #1 is the most famous "big gun" in pop culture. 3) Number 16 ist not Doom. 4) The apparatus of picture #14 shoots chainsaws.
A tough beginning of the new quiz year is now over. Nobody got everything right and just a handful of games have been guessed by more than 50% of all players. This means you can be proud of correctly guessing a title... because probably most participants won't have gotten it.
Warning: There are some unmarked spoilers in the comments, as some "big guns" are part of the narrative of the game (think about doomsday devices in J-RPGs).

A third entry of the MS-DOS riddles? Well, who really needs Microsoft Windows... this round focuses on PC classics from the 80s and 90s (no worries, quite a few had console ports too), a true retro quiz! It's not easy this time either, so will you still get at least half of the titles? I'm curious.
@lifer I don't think a Pinball Machine counts, my definition was "you had to insert a coin to interact with a screen via stick/wheel/button controls"... so a regular pinball doesn't count, but if you played something like "Granny and the Gators" (pictured below) you can still click yes.
Many participants have felt an awakening of old childhood and youth memories, lots of pictures seem familiar somehow... that's how it's supposed to go.
The "DOS classics" are one of the riddles where the name "retrogamequiz" is really fitting. 33 people already joined, and now it's time for some clues!
Clues #1:
1) There are nine graphics adventures in this round (almost all of them point&click). 2) The games #2, #5 and #15 are first person shooters (but number five also packs some additional genres). 3) Title #3 is the first of a trilogy, and it was ported to all kinds of systems from Game Boy Color to Atari Jaguar. 4) With #12 we have a western RPG that plays in Europe during the late middle ages.
So Ladies and Gentlemen, it is Sunday the 28th... this means there's only four days to participate in this classic retro round. So can you dig out your MS-DOS memories and find those games?
So far there are 45 players, and one from this forum.
Here is the final sprint - with the last clues:
1) Game 16 follows a Disney cartoon movie. 2) Title 7 is part of a sci fi action franchise with lots of games, books, a movie and a cartoon series. 3) Number 19 is (in the USA) one of many games to a series of movies and books. 4) Game 17 is a point&click adventure with horror elements, released in the early 90s.
The third DOS round is over, with 97 participants... are there no more classics left, or will we have a part four one day?
About the bonus question - 75% of you followed the "insert coin" request at least once in their gaming life:
