The only one I'm missing for which hints are coming is 20... and the hint for it about row four didn't help me so much. I kinda assumed as much with the other four being grouped together...
@BabyYoshi12 I'm not sure you are right about it being a lesser known game. From what I can gather, it should be the third best selling game of these, and fairly close to the #1 and #2 in sales.
I submitted my list. Did you go for low skill floor but high ceiling this time?
Usually I just attempt to make the quiz easy in the beginning, and hard in the end. And to avoid too many users with full score, I don't give any more hints on the last row.
I have set up some formulas in the results sheet that automatically give me a graph of the answer rate, it currently looks like this - quite close to what I wanted:
I expected Nr.20 to be the hardest, but it had to stay it in the fourth row so I could keep all games there in the same genre.

It looks like an Amiga or other computer game, but with no one having the answer, it could be something entirely different...
I'm somewhat surprised that even 24 and 25 see 10%+ correct answers. It seems there will be a couple of quizzers with 24 points. I need to up my quiz game even further!
"Dear customers, thank you for your visit today. Please take note that this store will close in one week!" So then... time to take another guess or two, with the final set of clues.
The item shop is about half full with 45 people, and two of them are from this forum.
So far all scores are between 2 and 23 points - here are the last clues:
1) Number 1 shows a well-known 3rd person action game by Capcom. 2) Game 20 was released twice, once in 2016 and once in 2020 (with a new name). 3) On picture 17 we see the ugly Spectrum version of a multiplatform Shmup from the late 80s. 4) Title 9 is a Playstation & PC game with lots of wild robots.
Still missing 20 and 25.
I figured out 24, but even with the two pointers on 20, I still got no clue yet...
Did anyone figure that one out now after the final set of hints?
@Dogorilla Nice! I had a couple of ideas, but none confirmed. @BabyYoshi12 Hope you got that one right, too. Once you go beyond Mario or Pikachu, there won't be many game characters everyone would recognize, so who knows. @Bunkerneath Definitely the game title. In months where character names were also fine had that noted explicitly in the OP.
@Bunkerneath What lifer said. I don't think all of these characters even have names. @lifer It is still by far the hardest game of this round, with a 3% answer rate. Don't beat yourself up if you don't have it, you already got a great score! @dogorilla I can confirm - you know one of the games lifer doesn't have. It is the 3rd toughest title. @BabyYoshi12 Now I am curious too, please participate so I can see!

In the year 1993 a swedish team developed a horizontal scrolling Shoot'em'up for the Amiga, which didn't get a release. However, in 2016 the game got rediscovered and published as "1993 Space Machine" for PC, followed by a Switch release in 2020 as "1993 Shenandoah". Congrats to the SEVEN players who managed to solve this one!
