August patch notes. Update goes live tonight, August 12th, 2025 7:30 p.m. PT . 9-star monsters with random talismans for rewards. These talismans have multiple baked in skills and slots.
Alright, as someone who prefers comfort over speed, I'm looking at a rarity eight. Primarily for defense boost 4, razor sharp 3, and 3x 1 slot. Ten build efficiency points total. I'm tired of these 8-star and higher monsters two-tapping.
The new build, assuming the Googledoc is accurate looks like...
@JaxonH I've been reading up on this, and it genuinely seems like Wilds is essentially now "when" as opposed to "if"..... but I am really tempering my expectations in terms of performance.
I suppose though that there is a lot at stake for Capcom if they bork this? The popularity of this franchise, especially in the East, is surely too 'high profile' to risk screwing up the optimisation?

One thing I'll say for Capcom is, they generally ensure their Switch ports run at an acceptable framerate. Not always perfect, but I don't recall any unmitigated disasters. If they can't get a game running at a mostly stable 30 at minimum, they typically just won't port the game.
I say chop that sucker down to size and give us a smooth, enjoyable portable hybrid experience. Cull those NPCs, dial back draw distances, scale down endemic life and small monsters, thin out the excess foliage, keep textures at low, tweak polygonal geometry as needed and render internally at 540p with DLSS upscaling to 1080p for both handheld and docked, simply allowing a few levers to be increased for visuals during TV play.
@JaxonH I really really hope so mate. I know "30 fps" seems to be a dirty term of phrase in modern gaming, but if Capcom can pull out a locked 30 - without too much compromising of visual fidelity - I'd be genuinely delighted.
@CJD87
Ya I'm kinda over arguing with those who try to portray gaming at 30 as "unplayable", especially when it's on a power constrained hybrid portable system. At this point, it's like fine, don't play it then. Not really interested in explaining how ridiculous and hypocritical that argument is when it's not made in good faith. I'm just over extremist views wholesale nowadays.
Not that I myself don't prefer 60 fps, or acknowledge it as the gold standard which devs should aspire to, or wouldn't choose 60 over 30 all other variables held constant...
But ya. I think this game will actually manage to run OK. Cause I just don't see Capcom green lighting a version that would damage their reputation among their largest growing audience in the industry.
