@ zez - Thanks for that link. It seems that is a few years old though. So it was posted back in the great economic slump. Also, it was posted before Tri was releaseed here. I believe Tri was the most successful MH game ever to be released stateside and showed the fan-base is there. So things may have changed dramatically since then.
Oh yeah, I didn't realize it was old until just now. So it could be a possibility, especially with MH's gained popularity in the west in the past few years. Let's just hope it comes
I started working at Gamestop yesterday and was labeling games for the Super Saver Clearance sale and there were many neat games for sale. One of them was Freedom Unite for friggin $7.
Here's my first big Monster quest in MHP3, the first urgent! Aoashira the Blue Bear thing~ Quality is pretty bad, but that's cause I'm too cheap to get good recording stuff [youtube:vS42EGI552M] watch in 480p to make it less blurry :3
For those who have played the Monster Hunter FU demo...do the bosses always take that long to take down? And is there any point in killing normal monsters in the full game?
Can I answer? I have the whole game and have 60+ hrs on it~ still only on 4* village quests...
The demo isn't that great, they throw you in to three different hard monsters with no idea what you should do. In the actual game they start off slower... a lot slower, by throwing you into lots of gathering quests (like gather 200 shrooms and stuff) and then there's a giant difficulty spike with the first big monster quest about 2hrs in.
The whole point of fighting monsters is to get their drops/carves/rewards for forging weapons and armor to fight bigger and tougher monsters. Of course even if you just complete every quest once, MHFU is so packed in content you'll have like 200hrs in by then.

I haven't seen the demo, so I don't know exactly how long it takes to take down a boss in that, but I have the full version of MHFU and Bosses may take longer to kill later in the game, but not right from the start. You start off killing smaller bosses that take about 5 minutes to kill and then when you have more experience, you're set to kill larger bosses which may run away into different areas when they get weak, requiring you to chase after them into a different area to continue the fight. This can eat up some time.
The point of killing the smaller monsters is to carve parts off of them. In order to create armor and weapons and the like, you need a certain amount of items depending on what you're making, and these may require parts from some of these smaller monsters. You can also carve off Raw Meat from the normal monsters which you can roast on a portable BBQ Spit you have so you can eat them to increase your stamina bar.
Oh, I got confused with 'normal' monsters... Those are usually just called 'small' or 'minions' or something in MH since 'bosses' are all the game has
Like TeeJay said, the the reason to kill smaller minions things is because they have carves that you need for different sets and stuff. And they're effing annoying at times.
Thanks, that makes it sound much better. I might consider picking up Tri and FU someday if I can find them cheap. Until then top priority goes to God Eater Burst! That game looks so good!
Sense my PsP broke, Im waiting till Freedom 3 comes out to get another, if I dont wait till vita comes out. Still, much rather be playing Tri G on 3DS.

@Mickeymac God Eater Burst is boring and easy. :/ Its single player mode is more compelling due to the presence of an actual narrative (a quite anime cliche-y one too), but MHFU is a lot better in every other way imo. You'll definitely need to play with friends to really enjoy MH though.
I just realized none of these games have online. F that then...I guess I'll just wait for Monster Hunter Tri G or something...no wait, that doesn't have online either...f***...
