@SnoozerBear I think I'll go with the PSP. The only Vita game I really care about is Uncharted, where there are tons of PSP games I want to play, and could get them cheaper too. Thanks everyone!
Currently Playing: Xbox 360: Arkham City, MW3, Gears 3, UMV3, Battlefield 3 PS3: inFAMOUS 2, LBP 2. Rachet & Clank: All 4 One, Uncharted 3, Resistance 3 Xperia Play: Crash Bandicoot iOS: Sonic CD, Infinity Blade, Arkham City Lockdown, Mega Man X, Chrono Trigger
I'm sure you'll enjoy it. I've had mine for less than a year and play it all the time. Another game you might want to check out is Ys Seven. It's friggin' awesome!
My opinion probably isn't typical since I'm a blatant Nintendo fanboy and an enemy of almost everything Sony does but here's my 2 cents...I got a PSP very near to launch and....didn't really play it hardly at all. I watched some movies on it for a couple weeks but that fizzled. My DS definitely took center stage and forced the PSP completely out of the picture. Then about a year ago I found a PSP go for 90 dollars almost brand new so I got it. I have played it a bit with titles such as Patapon, echochrome, Beats, and GTA but still not even close to as many hours logged on DS/3DS. So IMO, yeah there are a few good titles (Not very many at all if you ask me) so it might be worth it if you find it cheap like I did. Surely you can find a PSP for less than $150 dollars nowadays so you'll almost surely get your money's worth so get one I guess....unless you lack any DS. If you don't have a DS and are thinking about buying PSP just stop right there and turn around.
Good point. Some games are UMD only, besides the general lower pricing.

I am glad I was able to help.
EDIT: @bboy2870 Well, if you look around there are tons of great games. As many as the DS. I own dozens of amazing PSP games, and love my PSP. I got it cheap not that long ago now that's it's nearing the end of its life, and have been very happy with it. I can name countless good titles off the top of my head.

I'm tempted to buy one just to play persona and some of the strategy games. Consoles seem to lack a bit in those areas...decisions!
The PSP isn't great for strategy (unless you mean Strategy RPGs). You're better off buying a cheap netbook and loading it up with games from Matrix Games, or an iPad, if you're keen on strategy games.
Well.. 1000s are completely hackable, but really, I'd say get a 3000 or 2000. They have better screens and are slimmer. 1000 you have a switch to load and unload games and who knows if it will have problems (though, my brother's is a launch PSP and works perfectly fine). I have a Mystic Silver PSP and although there were times (such as Star Ocean SE and LBP) where I spent hours on, I personally am not a big fan because of lack of good games I'm into. There are about 6 games I want I missed out on, but that's about it for me. When I get my Vita at some point, I'll download them. Not sure about BBS.. sucks it's not on PSN. And I won't be able to use my UMD games on Vita
I say get a good Memory Stick from Walmart for $20 (4gb) and download games if available in the store. That way, when you get Vita, you can still download them to it.
The PSP is an amazing handheld. But with the Vita right around the corner, it might be a good idea to just wait until the Vita launches and then download the PSP games you want to play. Of course, some games (like Birth by Sleep which is one of the best games for the PSP in existence) are not on the PSN. It really depends on which PSP games you are interested in. If you are still going to buy one, then buy the 3000. It is the best model, and I heard that the 1000 have some technical problems (although I cannot remember what kind of problems it has).
I'm gonna say no. I had one and ended up selling it. It's even the first system I've ever sold. Not that many games and too big IMO. If you're interested in the PSP I'd say definitely wait for the Vita.
But do as you please. If you feel that you're gonna be happy with it. Go for it.
Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again
