definitly worth getting a ps3 though thats just my opinion i got my wii in november 2007 and my motorstorm 80gig ps3 in janurary 2008 luckly that has ps2 backwards compatibility. so its been 3 or 4 years since i got both systems and i can definitly say a ps3 is worth it considering the amount of titles that have came out since then and prices of some awsome games have gone down so your in luck

you might want to wait till sony fixes their (hopefully temporary) PSN problems before going out and buying one (unless it's the slim model). But other than that, the ps3 seems like an overall good console to own. source:

(i removed the source... after revisiting i noticed it was a 'ps3 hacking' site, but you can easily google 8001050F ps3 hardware failure)

Well, it really depends on what kinds of games you like/want. If you're looking at the exclusives, The PS3 has every type of game but lacks in the amount of games per genre (except for the FPS genre, which the XBox360 has the best lineup for). However, I'm assuming that you do own a 360, which it sounds like you don't. So, if you don't own a 360, then it's probably for the best. However, if you do own a 360, I'd be much more cautious before you go buy it.

Yeah, no 360 here. The Wii actually got me back into buying a video game system. The last video game system I had before was a SNES. But I did get my fair share of ps and ps2 action in college. Anyways, not too interested in 360 because it doesn't strike me as being so versatile...

Me, I am thinking about buying this console, since there seems to be a little circle surrounding the PS3-XBOX360 consoles...
Of course, I plan to buy a 60GB console and upgrade the hard drive. The functionality of the 60GB PS3 is too much to give up.

Actually, I like Bowser AND hairy bellies!

How much does it cost to upgrade the hard drive?

It's free to upgrade the hard drive since you can easily do it yourself. There are YouTube videos that show you how to do it. All you have to pay for is the hard drive itself. Amazon has 500GB hard drives listed for around $90. I'm planning on upgrading to 500GB sometime before August.

I'm starting to think about a PS3 and wanted some opinions. I have a Wii that gets some fairly consistent lovin' (I'm on this site so that probably makes sense.) I don't have an HD TV so I'm wondering about how it looks on a regular TV. What is the internet experience like? (Is it just like using a cpu on your television or are there limited sites like the Wii?). Can it run programs like itunes? How is the PSN experience? I'm interested in BioShock 1&2 and little big planet and have played and enjoyed the most recent tekken but are there other great games on PS3? The cost still seems a bit high to me...Thoughts, ideas, comments? Thanks.

i would for bluray, for it comes 2nd to online pc gaming.

Actually, this is exactly what would make me buy it. A dedicated blu-ray player (that just happens to play a couple of ps3 games that i'm interested in.)

With a Wii, 360, Saturn, PSP, DS x 2, PS2, a desktop PC and 3 laptops, I clearly have no need for another gaming system. But for some strange reason I don't have a blu-ray player.
