I'm using some in-ear beats. I plan to upgrade to some Urbanears or Nokia Purity headphones.

I bought some JVC headsphones for $16. Hope they'r good, and that I shouldn't have bought Skullcandy instead. IT seems the reviewes on Amazon n the JVC are better than skullcandy, and also that skull is kinda disgusting.

I grabbed a pair of Skullcandy Uprock's last week to use with my Vita and I'm really enjoying them. A couple of 3+ hour sessions saw now discomfort to my head or ears and the sound quality is great too.

Dang, my Ink'd failed me yesterday. Those lasted a somewhat short life, and I've had it. Even though my Ink'd actually lasted an okay period of time, I can't buy new headphones every 5-6 months. My replacements, JVC Marshmallows, aren't all that good. Man, I need something good, though my back-ups, JVC Gummy, are okay. Those Sennheisers rule (I tried them at Best Buy), but at $100, I decided not to buy them. I could even buy myself some Beats, but I don't want to blow $170 on headphones. Any good non-expensive headphones (preferably earbuds) out there?

I am picking up a new Samsung Galaxy S Blaze tomorrow and right now they have a deal where you can get the protective case, screensavers and Skullcandy earbuds for $49.99.

I want the case and the screen protector of course and I can use new headphones for my phone but are skullcandy earbuds really worth that price? I never really heard of them till a few weeks ago and still dont know that much about it is that a good deal? How much do skullcandy earbuds usally go for?

They're reasonable, and sound great, but beware: their earbuds are crap. Read my reviews.

I got some Gummy Plus recently, but they have no mic. At least I think they'll last longer than my Ink'd. They sound just as good surprisingly.

I'm not a headphone expert, but I was hoping some people here could give me some recommendations for a good pair of earbuds for my (I think) 4th gen iPod Nano, though it's close to being dead and I'll probably get an upgrade on it in a couple months. Anyway, here are some things I'm looking for in them, besides the obvious one of sound quality:
Available in-store at most American Best Buy locations (specifically the south suburbs of Chicago)
Price of less than $40 (how much I have a gift card there for)
High durability (i.e. will they fall apart quickly if I carry them around in my pocket wrapped around my iPod?)
Minimal ear discomfort (though I really don't use earbuds for longer than a half hour most of the time)

Any recommendations?

Yes, the JVC Gummy Plus. The main downside is they don't have a built-in mic, but they sound great, and if they're like my pair of JVC Gummy (they're practically the same thing, but w/ no sound isolation), they will last a forever. In comparison to my Ink'd (which have a built-in mic), that is quite a bit longer. I just got them. If you go w/ the Ink'd be prepared for them to last about 6 months, which is a little on the short side, so insure them, or get them at HomeGoods (who sell them for 1/2 the price of Best Buy, etc.). I know - it's crazy; but you do have a gift card...so get the Gummy Plus (if they have them that is, sorry, but I've never seen them there which is not a good sign). So yeah...you're screwed. Good luck. I've heard good things about Skullcandy's regular headphones, but if you look at my reviews, you can see how far that got me. Hopefully in that case people aren't hyping things up or anything.

Smexi, pick any from this page. Preferably as expensive as you can afford!

Now those are what I call headphones. One of the best brands out there.

Went out and got some type of MUSX earbuds; I didn't get the JVC Gummy Plus's because I didn't like the colors they had. Anyway, for $21 and having a 30-day warranty, I'll put them and their noise-cancelling qualities to the test and report back soon.

I'm back. The earbuds I got are Altec Lansing Muzx Mesh MZX096, and I love them compared to my old ones (Sony MRD-EX10LP's). They're louder (112 dB to 100 dB), the bass I get out of them is fuller (I'm not fluent in acoustic lingo, so I'm not sure how to describe that appropriately), at least that's how they sound to me on my 3DS and iPod Nano. They also come with 4 different earbud sizes (compared to the Sony's 3), so that's nice. However, it's kind of hard to see which earbud goes into which ear compared to my Sony's, but it's not deal breaking by any stretch. I can't really speak to their noise isolation qualities or durability, but they (the Altecs) come with a 2-year manufacturer's warranty (along with Best Buy's 30-day return policy), so that's nice for some $20 buds. A note of caution if you plan on buying a pair: watch out for the "Classic" type of these headphones; for $10 more, you get worse quality headphones (from a box-to-box comparison) that are gold plated. Unless you're swag is more important than your headphone quality, in which case you can go knock yourself out on those.

Exactly.
