So it looks like the ET cartridges that were dug up from the landfill a few months ago will earn its place in history in a place in the Smithsonian

I think the real story here is that AOL is still around.

Seriously, why are people celebrating a terrible game. They put it in a landfill for a reason, because it's garbage.

I guess it's less about the piece of old plastic and more about the history and cultural value that come attached with it.

You know, there's pieces of poop at display in many museums. Like, literally, ancient poop. And other items that would've been considered mundane and useless/of little value in their time.
