EA sure loves to bundle Wii games with HD console ones.

That way they don't have to worry about doing a full-priced port. They're just making it "on demand" and increasing the first week sales of a game they've invested far more money in.

I actually hope EA can get some of there money back for the epic sales fail they had for Extraction for Wii.

Kind of hard to do that when they're giving it away with a game that might not make any money on its own anyway. There's doubts as to whether Mirror's Edge and Dead Space were in fact successful and Dante's Inferno likely ended with a loss.

@Oregano.... Dead Space sold really well and is one of the best games on PS3/360. The sequel will sell like crazy, no doubt about it. By the added pack-in, the game will sell even more therefore giving them money back, not to mention that Dead Space Extraction will be a $10 DLC game on PSN!

Dead Space did well, but not astronomically and they spent a ludicrous amount on advertisements(keep in mind it had the movie made for it). Dante's Inferno is the bigger example, that Super Bowl ad cost $3 million dollars alone. To put that into perspective the average Wii game costs less than $5m to make.

Anyway the real point was that EA isn't intended on making any money on Dead Space Extraction at this point(and whilst it didn't meet expectations it may have made its budget back) and it isn't about boosting first week sales either. It's a) part of a Sony moneyhat to convince people to pick the PS3 version and b) part of project ten dollar designed to stop used sales as only the initial buyer will get Extraction(that counts for NBA Jam too).
