Anyone else a fan? If you've ever loved the Alice in Wonderland books, you owe it to yourself to play them. Unlike Tim Burton's movie (glares at that huge letdown) these games live up to the name and, not only that, but seem like true sequels to the books.

Here's a trailer to the new game, Alice: Madness Returns (which will have the first game included with it as well!):

Man, the movie was great!
Those games look creepy. Have you read those new Alice in Wonderland books, I can't remember the name, but it is gold, has some card soldiers on front, ANYWAYS, much more violent version of the book.

It was okay, it just didn't live up to my vision of a Alice movie directed by Tim Burton (ironically, American McGee's games are the sort of thing I was expecting. He out Burtoned Tim. XD). It was a lot like a Chronicles of Narnia wannabe....

No, I haven't! I'll have to look into them, thanks!

And yeah, the games are sort of creepy, but it all has a point to it, it's not just weird and violent stuff for the sake of being shocking; it's all quite intelligent and psychological.

I hope the new one lives up to the name. I haven't played the first (would like to, but it isn't necessarily easy to find), but it looks good and I know the story and everything fits into the world quite well.

It's a good game, but Alice doesn't feel like a true sequel to me. It's more like fan fiction.

...in my pants.

^ Very few fan fiction writers would be able to write Alice and Cheshire Cat's brilliant interactions, let alone all the illusions to the books and how everything is used to show Alice's current mental condition. Unless you know of better fan fiction than I do, calling Alice fan fiction is an insult to the game.

Yep, but if you buy Madness Returns you get a free download code for the original!

@WaltzElf: That's fantastic news! So the platforming is good, then? That's the only thing that looked kind of lackluster in trailers.

Whaaaat, here I tracked down the original not too long ago in preparation for this game, and it turns out I could've gotten it for free? D:
Reminds me I need to finish the first game soon

^ At least you have a rare copy of the first one! I hope you didn't pay too much for it though, some of the prices I've seen are downright insane...

No, it's one with a split Dutch/English cover, so I doubt it's the most valuable copy in the world.
And I didn't pay more for it than I would've paid for any other used PC game.

Ah, that's good then. Here, used copies sell for upwards of $50+...

It works as I expected. As long as I don't go dying because of crap controls or camera, I couldn't care less about platforming sections. It's probably not the flight of fancy of a Mario game, but then Mario's combat sucks compared to this, so it evens out.

For what little it's worth I enjoyed this more as a platformer than Sunshine
