Until everyine starts using the Nintendo ID signature feature on this site it would be hard to tell what their actual ID is (mine is different from my Nintendolife handle), let alone whether they even have a WiiU - for those prospective friend requests.

Mine is edhe84 and I've already made a few requests. I'll be happy to accept any incoming requests.

You press "SEARCH" and type in any name and it will look for you.

If you click on a person's mii next to a post of theirs it takes you to their profile; you can send them a friend request there.
