Having tied up the Playstation 3 Fan Thread with attempts to get online matches going for too long, I thought it might be a good idea to set up a separate thread in the Online Gaming section of the forum. Maybe we can work out a scheduled time to play...
For the time being, I would like it known that I'll be on the game tonight starting at 9pm Eastern Daylight Time, PSN ID Stuffgamer1 (of course). Feel free to join!
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
@Roopa: You really picked the WRONG people to fix that thing, but that's a discussion for the general PS Fan thread.
Anyway, I may be up for playing when I get home from work today around 4pm EDT. Might be your big chance, billy-beauts! Just let me know if you're interested.

All right, cool, Roopa! My clan moved game night back to Tuesday at 9pm Eastern, but I'm generally up to playing other times as well. Most nights, really. Of course, that's somewhat inconvenient given time zone differences...
EDIT: HUGE NEWS! For today, Oct. 16 only, until midnight Pacific, Uncharted 2 has QUINTUPLE CASH!

Haha, looks like i got lucky! Sorry i wasn't so good with you guys, Stuff. I'll get better eventually though
@turtlelink: No problem, man, it takes a while to learn stuff. A headset would definitely help, though. It wasn't even my idea to leave you behind, either...that was an unfortunate side-effect of some of the other people in the party wanting to meet up with OTHER friends. They eventually ditched NotPennysBoat and me, too.
@Roopa: Cash is both in-game currency to buy new multiplayer skins, boosters, and upgrades; and the multiplayer "experience" with which you level up. I went from level 47 to 52 last night.
EDIT: Just so there's no confusion, though: The quintuple cash event ended half an hour before you posted that. Sorry, Roopa, you missed out.
Aww...I'm sure they would've understood if you'd just explained yourself. The PS3 triggers ARE quite sensitive...I'd like to think most people playing PS3 would know that.
But yeah, it really is a great game. I find myself wanting to play it more and more lately...I put in seven hours last night and STILL want to play tonight! That's absurdly unprecidented for me.

Oh crap right it's Sunday already. And there I was playing and thinking: "Wow if this is quintuple cash it must take ages to get enough money to level up or buy stuff when there's only the normal amount of cash." Oh well, it still was really fun and I'm level 15 already and I have a lot of money but nothing good unlocked in the shop yet Edit: Also I just killed 3 teammates with a grenade in the Elimination spawn because my controller fell down and the shoulder buttons are so sensitive. I panicked and turned my PS3 off I hope my inbox isn't full of angry messages when I turn it on again.
Be careful doing that. They start giving you a quit penalty when you do that and I think it gets bigger over time. I feel sorry for letting Stuff wait for my match to be over because i didn't want to lose $10,000(,000?) cash and wait 30 seconds to leave.
@turtlelink: If your system gets turned off, you shouldn't be given a quit penalty...that's really only for if you quit manually. Uncharted 2 is very good about not penalizing for any disconnection that could be out of the player's control, and power outages would be included in that. Unless the game has a way to tell whether the power was cut suddenly or turned off manually, but I doubt that.
And don't worry about the wait. It's an understood necessity because of the quit penalty. Besides which, I simply left the room and did something else for a moment while waiting, so it wasn't time wasted.
@Roopa: Perhaps, if turtlelink gets a headset. Co-op isn't too good an idea without one. It IS, however, much better once you get some weapon upgrades. I have them all now.

I get off work ten minutes after your prescribed time on Friday, so I may be able to join you by the hour after, if I'm up to it. It's a long shift, so I really won't know until the time comes.
Iffy pronunciation could make things...interesting. It'll be fun! Hey, at least you speak English at all...I've played online with some Germans who DON'T. Not too fun.

Heh, that'll happen...it's a combination of your relative inexperience and the way the game is. I've gotten better with practice, but I still die a lot sometimes. The real trick to overall success is actual teamwork, something we were lacking in. That too is something that must be developed over time within a group, and/or created using headsets (preferably and). Speaking of which, what happened with yours, Roopa? You didn't talk pretty much the entire time I was there.

I've played with Sean007's without that problem, so I don't think it's necessarily just a distance thing. I was having trouble hearing turtlelink as well...no idea what the cause of the problem was. I hope we can get things working at some point though, 'cause it's a lot more fun with functioning headsets.
