Topic: Zen Pro Controller Thoughts

Went today to my local Target to pick up a few things and decided to pick up a Switch Pro Controller. Unfortunately they didn't have any instead I picked up a third party one called Zen Pro it was about the same price as Nintendo's so I figure I give it try. Supposedly it's suppose to be anti stick drift which is interesting and after reading some reviews it seemed like a good bye. I haven't used it yet but just upon opening the box it doesn't feel cheaply made it feels quite heafty. I noticed that it claims to have Gyro aiming, I honestly don't remember if the Nintendo Pro Controller did or didn't, but I thought that was intersing to note on the packaging.

Anyone have any experience with this controller?? I will of course add my thoughts once I play a game with it.

You should check online for reviews of such device as not everyone has the same or matching units. Gyro and NFC is only seen so far in Pro Controller from Nintendo. I have yet to hear or see any other have such options yet.

So did a play through of TMNT III Manhattan Project using the controller and I have to say it felt good. It's a bit heavier then the Nintendo Switch controller so it might not be the best controller for a young kid especially for long play sessions. I'd say it's a little bit heavier then the Xbox Series controller. You can tell with the wait it's pretty durable and doesn't feel like it will snap in your hands like some controllers.

The sticks felt good very smooth going from one position to another and the dpad felt great too. The shoulder buttons felt like tbe Series controllers which I liked. Battery time I really couldn't test as I only played for two hours. I might try later on a longer game maybe some Dragon Quest or something like that to see how long the battery lasts, but to be truthfully I don't do to many gaming marathons anymore maybe the most I play is 4 hours and that's rare.

Overall though, I do recommend the Zen Pro Controller. Not only does it work on the Switch but PC, Android as well. Syncing it is a cinch, you can manually sync it with a few button pushes or just plug it in to the USB port on the Switch/PC with the provided cord.

@Tasuki
Sounds good. I was thinking about getting a 8bitdo pro2, but this sounds like a contender.
Does it have configurable (macro) buttons?

@Rambler As a matter of fact it does. I forgot to mention that because I never use them to be honest.

I was thinking about getting the 8bitdo pro 2 but didn't want to wait for the shipping lol.
