I feel like Ocarina and Majora's Mask are sacred at this point: maybe another visual upgrade, but nothing more. They're just perfect the way they are.

I hope they do another 2D remake before a Skyword Sword remaster, actually. I feel like the later 3D Zeldas still hold up well enough without more than an HD upgrade, but some of the 2D games like Oracles, Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks could really benefit from some remastering.

The moonshot, I still think, is just one remaster. I don't think we're gonna get more than that, and we may not even get that. We'll definitely get a few ports and/or releases on NSO.

@rallydefault I disagree about Minish Cap needing an upgrade, it’s the best looking of the pixels Zeldas in my opinion. I agree with Spirit Tracks and Phantom Hourglass in particular though, they would look rough on the telly and could do with some tinkering.

Of course what we can really expect is a remastered collection of the Tingle games! ;p

I highly doubt that they'll do anything with Link between worlds since it's "so new" and since that was a spin off of Link to the Past I think that means they won't do anything with that one either. I'm expecting another online Four Swords type game

Games I'm playing right now:
Tears of the Kingdom - Switch

Kingdom Hearts 2 - PS4
Ace Attorney Trilogy - Switch

I wouldn't exactly call link between world new. But a wind waker remake

Nintendo is too lazy to do a full-blown remake for a 35th anniversary

Kingdom Hearts 2 - PS4
Ace Attorney Trilogy - Switch

Minish Cap does look good, I just think it could do with a sprucing up and new exposure to a massively larger audience. It would be a huge hit. From what I can find, it only sold a bit over a million copies while it was on sale traditionally. That's a pretty small number compared to other mainline Zeldas, even compared to other handheld games like the Oracle games (4ish million).

Actually, I found a vgsales chart that says Minish Cap may be the second lowest-selling main Zelda title, under Tri Force Heroes but just above Four Swords.

@rallydefault I actually really like Minish Cap it's a fun game, finding the Picori holes could get on my nerves once in a while but other than that it was great but I do agree with @jump that the graphics are pretty good compared to like the Oracle games which used the same style as Link's Awakening. But if we are gonna get a full-blown remake like Link's Awakening it'll be That, the oracle games, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks, or the OG Zelda most likely

Tears of the Kingdom - Switch

Kingdom Hearts 2 - PS4
Ace Attorney Trilogy - Switch

@rallydefault In fairness to Minish Cap it unfortunately came at the tail end of the already short lifecycle of the GameBoy Advance, after/around when the NDS had launched if I remember correctly. Also I think the Orace games are combined rather than seperate right?

That's all neither here or there though as I really rate Minish Cap regardless of sales.

It seems the anniversary is as soon as 21 februari, so I guess we can expect a Zelda-Direct pretty soon!

An actual real-life set of masks.

Especially Majora's, the purple goofy bunny one, and the glow in the dark one.

Majoras mask would be epic, I'd want the Deku one too

@jump
Yep, the same chart has Seasons and Ages combined for 4 mil.

Yea, I rate anything regardless of sales, and Minish Cap was a really fun game. I didn't even play it until the Wii U Virtual Console, and I usually have a tough time playing all the way through older games on the VC.

Minish Cap is pretty brilliant. I don't think that it needs a remake though - it still looks great and is very approachable. It might even be the most approachable Zelda game. The game goes down like butter.

The Oracle games were both a bit rougher than Link's Awakening (IMO), inheriting the same interface that makes them hard to seriously recommend to many new players in 2021. Remaking them in the LA engine would make them far more palatable and give the developers the chance to sand down a few rough edges. I'd like to see that - they had some great ideas and collectively I think a collection of the two remade would stand up to the remake of Link's Awakening (although neither game is individually on the same level).
