I'm curious to hear what people's all-time favorite Nintendo Switch game(s) is/are. My personal favorite is Breath of the Wild. Some of my other favorites are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Kirby and the Forgotten Land, and Tears of the Kingdom! What are your favorite Nintendo Switch games?
Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Heavily doubt anything will top it at this point.
I could probably list 30+ games I love to death on this system, but Breath of the Wild, Triangle Strategy, Valkyria Chronicles 4, and The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles would probably round out my Top Five.
The obvious one for me is BOTW and perhaps TOTK as the two most played, but Mario Odyssey hit me on a different level.
Collectathons were a big part of my gaming life once, particularly through the N64 era. I thought the genre was as good as dead. Fast forward to 2017 and out comes Odyssey - and it had me hooked like very few, if any, games had done so for a good decade.
Would even take the game to work with me and play it in my office for hours on end, day after day after it was released.
Hard to believe we're coming up to six years since its release, but I hope some time down the track we get another like it.
It's definitely BotW. While I think TotK is a big improvement, it's a situation similar to Mario Galaxy 1 and Megaman Legends. The sequels may be better but there is a certain magic in the first games that the sequels can't quite rematch
If we're talking just first party, probably a toss-up between TotK and Splatoon 3. Tears is such an open-ended game with so much content that if I had to pick a "forever" game it'd probably be way high up there, and it improves on so many of the issues with BotW. Splatoon though is pretty much my ultimate comfort game, I've been in love with the series since Splat 1 (even though I never had a Wii U) and it is still my favorite series of all time.
If we're including third party stuff, it might be cheating since it's a port, but Persona 4 Golden is my favorite game of all time. The game itself is fantastic much like the rest of the Persona games, the story is great with a ton of twists and turns, and the characters specifically are so utterly fantastic (Yosuke's my PFP for a reason) that I had a personal revelation at the end, and the game changed my life to some extent as a result. A game has never impacted me like that before, and it's gonna take a lot for another game to hit like P4 did. That said, even though I played it first on Switch, it's still a port so I can see why it may be cheating.
I bought a Switch in August 2017 because it was at that moment I noticed I could play Skyrim portably.
Feel free to sprinkle in the usual "can only play on Nintendo platforms" stuff like Luigi's Mansion 3, Zelda: Link's Awakening, Bayonetta 2 and/or 3, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Super Mario Odyssey, Astral Chain, Xenoblade Chronicles (any of them), etc. But I'm here mainly for third party games in portable form.
Switch Physical Collection - 1,251 games (as of April 24th, 2024)

Oh wow, that’s almost impossible. Hollow Knight for non-first-party, and Xenoblade 3 or Xenoblade 2 for first-party. I love almost every switch game, but I sadly can’t choose them all😅
