1. Every probe site is accessible once you get the flight module after chapter 9, so that's a good time to knock off any remaining ones. Some are on sky islands or hidden in caves, so don't worry if you've got a few gaps in your network before then.
2. Make sure that you're using all your storage probes and in a single chain to get the biggest group bonus, and put it somewhere in Oblivia, because that's otherwise the least useful continent. You can further enhance this using the booster and duplicator probes. There's no point in mining all that miranium if you've nowhere to put it.
3. Put your high value probes over the most productive sites and, again, try to make use of the chain bonuses. It might sometimes be better to put a good probe in a bad site because it makes the adjacent ones more productive.
4. Make a note of the useful minerals, because you want to be mining all of them as soon as possible. The biggest bottleneck is Bonjelium, which is used in most of the best augments and can only be mined from six sites in Cauldros. Get a good probe on all of them early and you'll be rolling in it by the end of the game.
For what it's worth, my post-game FrontierNav makes about 65,000 miranium, with twice that in storage. That's not particularly optimal, as I'm running a lot of combat support probes, and have a few leftovers from a quest chain that makes you farm credits, but it should give you a rough idea of what's possible.
@Kraven your complaints are mine exactly. I'm about to start chapter 11 tonight. I'm sitting at level 47. Once I get my level 50 skell, I'll be B lining towards the end goal, which is the final boss. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the story play out.
@NintendoByNature We are playing the exact same way I think. We are both the same level at the same chapter. That said, I stupidly just discovered “support missions” in the barracks. These can be done offline and some take only two minutes. You can level up really fast by doing so. I went from level 47 to 55 in about 30 minutes. You can even choose certain missions that prioritize different things - affinity gains, money and miranium, and so forth. If you don’t mind grinding for a bit, this is a great place to do it, and in a confined setting.
@Kraven yea I've been using those all game to level up thanks to jaxonh telling me. Hate to say it, but it's required at this point. You can quickly fall flat on your face.
My Mobapad M6 HD have macro functionality mapped to the rear grip buttons as an option. So I map nudging the analog slightly right then slightly left and double press the grip button to set it on auto loop. Then I turn brightness down and volume on mute, and let it rip overnight. Easy million coins a day. Was finally able to buy my whole team Lv. 30 skells.

He was pierced for our transgressions
@JaxonH I can remember, back in the Wii U days, people putting an elastic band around the analogue stick and the charging cable on the gamepad to achieve the same effect.
At 86 hours, with all characters up to level 54, and level 50 Skells, I completed the base game. I originally thought I would have to grind to level 80 due to a lot of forum posts I’ve read saying the final boss requires it — that wasn’t true at all. I managed to beat it quite easily, and didn’t have to grind whatsoever.
In any regard, what an absolute experience. Unfortunately, I didn’t get a grasp on FrontierNav probes until nearly the end of the game thanks to people on this forum, but I eventually did understand it. My negative feelings towards that mechanic of the game has changed to a positive. But yeah, the ending was awesome, and the post credits scene was mind blowing. I will probably take a brief break from the game, but I will definitely be jumping into the epilogue soon.
@Kraven good to hear. So when do the credits roll? I may not jump into the new story chapter unless it's necessary. Also, what level is the final boss? I'm at level 48/49 and I just finished ch 11 yesterday. I intend to go straight for credits now if I can with only doing mandatory affinity missions and chapter missions.
@NintendoByNature
The credits roll when you complete chapter 12, which is where the original Wii U version ended.
In Definitive Edition however, that's not the end of the story and the new 13th chapter is split into three parts. "Post-game" is after you complete chapter 13, though due to how the game is structured this puts the world state back to how it was when finishing chapter 12, with the option of repeating chapter 13 again if you like.
@NintendoByNature The credits roll after you beat chapter 12. The final boss is level 50, but there are essentially 4 fights altogether. I’d recommend getting to the same level or a few levels higher. I’d also suggest getting at least four of your characters level 50 skells.
@RupeeClock@Kraven thanks buddies. Good insight for sure. I was actually going to start up Clair Obscur tonight but with me bring so very close to finishing this, I may just power through, get up to the mid 50s, grab lvl 50 skells, and go for it.
Are you able to just buy those level 50 skells? I have millions of unused currency at this point since I rarely buy anything.
@NintendoByNature
Yeah you can just go straight ahead and buy those level 50 skells. To assign it to a character, they need to have reached level 50 themselves though.
During your adventures you may've also picked up weapons, armor, and augments that you can equip to your new skells too. Skell frames come with preset weapons and armor, but it's very much worth upgrading them.
Also, if you've been claiming your division rewards and getting material tickets saved up, something I'd suggest is trying to build the ARES 70 skell from the AM Terminal, which needs 50,000 Miranium and various materials that are dropped from special high level enemies, but can be exchanged for in the material market using those tickets.
The ARES 70 skell is very powerful and will let you power through chapter 13 quite quickly. It pairs well with opening attack augments, one such augment you can find for free on the very top-left corner of the map on a tiny island.
@Spider-Kev
I think that teaser is the post-credits scene? Never played the Wii U version.
@Spider-Kev
That's interesting to hear, I've heard of a few other big QoL changes from the Wii U version, such as the field skills needed to retrieve some treasures being simplified and needing less work.
Crafting EXP booster XX ground armor augments is also not particularly difficult to do as the requirements are low.
There are Saltat indigens around the Lesser Gemini Bridge in Primordia, which drop Golden Jewels when you break their "ball" appendage.
And there are level 41-50 Awakened Liceor indigens around south-east Syvalum in places that require a flying skells, they drop Giant Jade Pearls when you break their "ball" appendage.
For the Giant Jade Pearls, you can exchange 30 material tickets instead, making the EXP booster augments very accessible, since the Golden Jewels are easy to farm long before level 50.
@NintendoByNature I beat the game so I could properly start Clair Obscur as well! Lol. But yes, you can buy the skells. Some are actually expensive, ranging from 2mil up to 5mil.
