Put 9 hours into the game and beat Chapter 2… I’m really happy with how it’s turning out. It’ll be a while before I play next but I’m super excited to find out what happens. Whole party got to Lv20.
Played into the beginning of chapter two before stopping. Image quality still seems to be holding up in the open sections.
Might have taken them three games to do it, but they finally figured out how to release a Switch title that's viable as a hybrid game, it seems.
I will say, though, so far the soundtrack is... not bad, at all, but probably my least favorite of the three mainline games. We'll see how it progresses. At least the Millick Meadows theme is a banger.
@seaboyluca Jesus you’re fast. I spent literally all day getting to that point yesterday!
As for side quests… I did literally everything I could find. That’s why I had that little extra bit of bonus EXP. The side quests are actually pretty good compared to in 1. Not just fighting or fetch quests. Always there’s a story with each one.
@Ralizah
I love the integration of the flutes in the soundtrack. Too soon to say if it's better or worse than previous soundtracks though.
@TheJGG
Well, I did little else yesterday besides playing the game as well. 😅
I agree about the side quests. So far there haven't been many, but they've all been great.
I probably did all of them but maybe didn't kill as many mobs as you along the way.
Looks like I'm a bit behind the rest of you guys! I'm currently 6 hours in and I just finished chapter 1. Very strong start so far! The combat system here has been a lot of fun so far! I can't wait to see how much deeper it gets!
Is it possible to change the default tactics when starting a battle? It is for me as "any combo" and I feel the AI uses their arts without intent in this one. I allways go for one of the direct combos but it is quite boring to change it every battle...
Can't wait to use Shulk Amiibo now only if the game arrives to play. I found my local retailer had plenty but my PreOrder for the SE just shipped two days ago. How can that be they get stock in retailer day of release but Nintendo can't send out to get on Release Date?????
For those wondering: the first 2 chapters are quite linear, but the game opens up tremendously in Chapter 3. Been doing loads of side quests today and they're better than they've ever been. This game rocks!
@Balta666
Not sure what you mean, but my party is great at following up on break-topple-daze and break-topple-launch-smash. The first combo is used much more though. But I think that might change when I have more arts available that launch and smash.
@SwitchForce
I feel sorry for everyone still waiting on their physical copies.
On the other hand, it makes me feel like my decision to go full digital on Switch was the right one.
I’ve never really been all that interested in Xenoblade before, but the amount of great reception this one has been getting has caught my attention for sure. Seems like the world design, combat, and story are all fantastic, which are important highlights for me. Definitely thinking of picking this one up at some point, perhaps if it goes on sale or if I’m looking for something new and huge to play.

Currently playing:
Xenoblade Chronicles X Definitive Edition (Switch)
Balatro (PC)
I just found out that you can actually use that roll/dash mechanic to dodge certain attacks. I was fighting this unique monster that uses an AOE attack which normally hits my entire party but I rolled backwards at the last second and managed to avoid being hit
