I think I may have reached a point in Xenoblade 3 that's making me want to rage quit. I'm on chapter 6, and the current boss I'm trying to beat is Moebius Y. He's at level 54, my party's at 59, yet he keeps kicking my butt because of his insanely high health. No matter what I try, I can't beat the dude

@MarkL1987 I’d suggest lowering the difficulty at that point. I managed to get through that fight on hard mode with similar levels, but it sure wasn’t easy and I didn’t have many issues until the final parts of the game afterwards. When a game is losing its fun-factor, never a bad idea to just give yourself a break. Heck, I dislike this game’s hard difficulty because it seems to cut my damage in half which only makes fights last longer without feeling more challenging in the moment-to-moment gameplay, normal felt a lot more satisfying.
That, or either more sidequests or some party revisioning or class unlocking/switching. It’s an rpg at heart so it’s all about having the right strategy for the job.
@Mioaionios Thanks for sharing the video, by the by. Pretty good one, though it led me to yet another rant about this game’s story in the youtube comments, haha. Might watch some of his other stuff, I liked the way he used in-game moments to support his points.
I keep buying fighting games for some reason, even though I barely got anyone to play against.
@Takoda I can't go any lower on the difficulty because I'm playing on easy

@MarkL1987 Make sure you have a good balance of healers, attackers, and defenders. Try maxing out the classes if they're not already. Be sure to update your equipables where necessary.
As usual, chain attacks will take off gigantic chunks of health if you do them right.
Make sure your party have break/topple/launch/smash skills equipped, so that your party can disable him with combos.
When low on health, Eunie's ouroboros form should have access to some pretty decent healing abilities.
Also, have you been making sure to upgrade your ouroboros form abilities via the soul tree?
Another option to consider is playing as the Signifier class. You can stack up some pretty massive buffs on your party fairly easily.
If all else fails, you can always fall back on your bonus XP reserves.
For me, I really enjoyed the ending. The final boss could've been better, but the way the game ends is something most games don't really do anymore, or if they do, they end up back-peddling on it after people complain.
"It is fate. Many have tried, yet none have ever managed to escape it's flow."
@Takoda Them keeping their memories isn't really the main thing I enjoyed about the ending. My main thing primarily was the fact that the ending fit thematically with the game. The party disbanded and departed, with the two worlds separating, with them eventually converging again sometime in the near or distant future. My main takeaway is that the ending is mostly going for "Despite how terrifying and uncertain the future might be, we'll continue onwards". They'll remember one another, but it's never guaranteed that they'll all meet again one day, or that the outcome of the merge will even end up being favorable.

@VoidofLightOh, like that! Yeah, despite me really not liking the story, I did like that the ending puts emphasis on the thing it’s constantly been preaching about. It rarely ever seemed to do that, with loss not being a thing due to the rebirths everywhere and even grand story moments ending with very little actual consequences for our heroes in terms of something making the future seem uncertain, it was nice that right at the end they have to let go of the friends they made and just hope for a good future for them all, even when apart. For me the issue with the ending was that it felt like a peak in a series of valleys instead of the previous games feeling like scaling a mountain and reaching an awe-inspiring top, but I see what you mean. The character interaction was also at it’s best even though it’s arguably a short cutscene. Anyway, thanks for clarifying!.

Approaching 100 hours in the game. Haven’t ever spent 100 hours in a single save file in any game before. And if anyone remembers me spending 55 hours on the story… that’s over 40 hours on side quests alone. Well played MONOLITHSOFT. Well played.
Try BOTW....I still haven't gotten the 4 Guardian done yet.
No kidding. Reason I don't count that one is because I've reset my save at least six times so far, and not much of it is "postgame" per se. But yeah, Breath of the Wild is another game that can last dozens and dozens of hours in one save.
Being a JRPG means story's gonna take up a good amount of gameplay anyway. But I feel like 3's story was actually a little short.
@MarkL1987
I think the game's pretty easy once you're overlevelled.
Aside from everything @Ralizah mentioned, you might want to check if you're wearing all the best gems and accessories available to you right now. If you're not sure how, you can have the game auto-fill all slots by pressing "Y" on each character's profile screen and you should be fine.
Proper class setup is necessary for high level uniques, but for story bosses you should be able to beat them with pretty much every setup as long as your party's balanced with attackers, defenders and healers.
@Mioaionios I just upgraded all the skill trees for my party members with all the SP that was available for each individual character. Sadly, I won't have a chance to see if those upgrades worked or not for the time being as I have to go to work soon. But hopefully all the upgrades I did will pay off because I did come very close on my first attempt even without upgrades

Those skill trees will help strengthen your Ouroboros forms, but don't forget about gems and accessories to improve your characters outside those forms as well.

Not necessary true you can encounter higher level if you go to far even with your higher level. OverLevel helps you enjoy and survive the game more. You can die if you fall too high as well or off end of the world cliffs so you can die multiple ways other then higher level monsters and bosses. Your making that sound to simple Leveling takes a long time as well unless you get the right Food cooking then you level faster but that takes works. And those like me whom explores all over this helps I don't go linear gameplay I go where-ever and do all the quests and talk to all the NPC with stars and go back and forth to free colonies. So it's not all that easy as one likes to make it.
I'm wondering if there ends up being some link to XCX in the DLC story. The Switch release schedule perfectly set things up such that people could experience XC3 to its fullest irrelevant of their previous platforms by releasing XCDE in 2020 and adding in the extra story (Future Connected) which makes me wonder if a similar thing would happen with XCX.
Connecting X to the trilogy would honestly cheapen both stories to me. Alrest/Agnus is already its own universe anyway so that's out the window and the Conduit in the other universe is gone. The absolute most I could see is having X split off before Klaus screws everyone on the planet but at that point they might as well not bother connecting them at all.
IF they ever return to X/Mira it'll be its own series that they unfortunately gave the same name to. X shouldn't have been a Xenoblade game at all, in retrospect.
@Grumblevolcano
You know, I've been thinking about how they could do this and I have a theory. Mira could be the merger of Bionis/Mechonis and Alrest gone well in the far future. They could explain this by saying the White Whale has travelled through time or another dimension instead of space. There's this big cliffhanger at the end of XCX where they could explain all this in an extra chapter of sorts if they ever port this game over to Switch or Nintendo's next console.
@SwitchForce
Not sure what you're getting at but you're basically explaining how JRPGs work. There's always going to be areas you shouldn't go yet because there are higher level monsters there. That's something that dates all the way back to the first Final Fantasy.
@TheJGG I spent so much time in that place but I don’t remember even a single second of the track, haha. Though a lot of the music in this game doesn’t stick for me but it’s still quality music.
