Uh, what do you think this game is? Okami never got a mainline sequel. Anyway, I already played Okami like half a dozen times on Wii ten years ago. I stalled out on a PS3 replay around Oroshi. But it's not like there is any abundance of core Zelda games, so a sequel would always be welcome. The art style would probably compare better to other Switch titles than crossplatform ones anyway.

Don't hate me because I'm bnahabulous.

I played it 3 or 4 times on Wii and once on PS3. The updated resolution and textures are nice but that doesn't cover up the fact that it is obviously a game from a few console generations back and it's hard to start using a "normal" controller instead of a Wii remote. The Wii wasn't HD and the motion controls were fun, but I think the PS3/4, Xbox One and PC release were when the cracks started to show. Hopefully playing it on a portable like the Switch with touchscreen controls could bring back some of the magic for me, I'd enjoy another playthrough sometime this year.

I never said otherwise? When I said the "original", I meant the original release on the Wii... Much like if I referred to Twilight Princess vs Twilight Princess HD. I would say "the original" in reference to the GCN/Wii version.

I know full well that Okami HD is an HD remastered port and not any kind of sequel. What I'm saying is that I want to try the series for the first time.

Knowing Capcom they’d probably release it on a small cart and make you download the rest.

@Harmonie Although the “original” release was on the PS2

If it comes to Switch as a physical release, the boxart totally needs the IGN logo

@FX102A Okay, enough with the semantics! My point was that the original saw release on the Wii.

Well it's finally happening! And it features all kinds of control styles to suit the Switch!

I'm very happy with this Direct

@SVTornado We might get a physical release eventually, there's still time before it releases. Hopefully they don't keep the physical release restricted to Asia like they did with the PS3 version.

...but as someone who's trying to go all digital with their Switch I'm quite happy that it's coming at all

@Kimyonaakuma I wouldn't mind an only Asian physical release as long as it has a physical version somewhere in English.

Hey guys, I just saw on the eshop that the Japanese version of Okami HD will support English. So if you really wanted the game on physical release, and if said physical release doesn't come to the west, you should be able to order from something like Play Asia and import it. I live in Japan and there hasn't yet been a release that the Japanese eshop said supports English, when the Japanese physical copy does not. - At least no such case that I am aware of.

They did a recent announcement that it will have English update to it.

Go with Amazon JPN that will cost you less and will cost more from Play-Asia.

IF Amazon JP offers international shipping on it, I agree. But they don't always offer it. Recently they do offer it more consistently, but it still isn't a given.

@Heavyarms55
They do. I've had this game preordered from them for about a month, ever since English was announced for the JP release.

Psalms 22:16 (1,000 yrs before Christ)
They pierced My hands and feet
Isaiah 53:5 (700 yrs before Christ)
He was pierced for our transgressions
Zachariah 12:10 (500 yrs before Christ)
They will look on Me whom they pierced

My guess is you never tried to make a order on Amazon JP did you....One should not say something and be caught flat footed here.

@SwitchForce I just checked my Amazon JP account. I have ordered 62 things in the last 6 months alone. 97 orders last year, 73 the year before, and 15 back in 2015, when I first moved here to Japan. What were you saying about being caught flat footed?

Amazon and Amazon JP do not always offer international shipping on every product. I have run into several instances of this.

And if you are wondering why I have to ship internationally when I live in Japan, birthday presents. I like to use Amazon to have birthday gifts sent directly to my friends - with silly names on the address list. Because I am weird like that.

Yeah, there are some slightly unnecessary accusations floating around. I mean, my experience with Amazon JP has been flawless and I managed to get a pair of Odyssey Red Joy-Cons send to the UK for cheaper that it would have been to actually buy them here. I'd recommend it over Play-Asia every time if the option is available. But I don't think it's absurd to state that they don't offer international shipping on every product. I'd be very surprised if this applies to Okami, but still.

You can get Okami from Amazon.jp, no problem, it seems. But I don't think I want to spend the shipping and import fees currently:

Hopefully it will come physically to Europe. I'll wait a while and if it never materialises then I'll just end up getting it on the eshop (probably on sale).

You guys had me at blood and semen.

What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?

Seriously annoyed at how Capcom handled the language option. My Japanese version of the game is half in English unless I change system language and reboot. I hope Taiko isn’t broken like this.

EDIT: aaaaaand it is broken. That’s it. I’m going to bed. Two purchases are now needlessly cumbersome.
