Topic: Will nintendo be making amiibo of the SSBU DLC characters?

Hi guys, I just wanted to know if any of you knew if Nintendo were making dlc amiibo for ssbu, I couldn't find any info anywhere else so I thought here would be the right place to ask

They made Piranha Plant. We’ll have to wait and see.

@Clanlindsay They made amiibo for the Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS DLC fighters, so it's safe to assume that all the new DLC fighters are getting amiibo as well.

Amiibo of DLC characters can be used even if you have not purchased the DLC. You will need the most recent software updates, however.

Are we sure about this? Joker released about a year ago and there's no confirmation whatsoever of him getting an amiibo, let alone The Hero, Banjo, Terry and Byleth.

@Matthew010 : The last of the 3DS/Wii U Smash amiibo weren't released until about a year and a half after the release of the DLC (and after the Switch had been released).

It's simply a matter of when not if. I'm more concerned about Nintendo releasing a ton of variants of existing amiibo, such as the Koopalings, opposite sex variants of characters, and the like (my poor, poor wallet).

Plus, do you suspect for a minute that Nintendo would pass on the opportunity to release a Banjo Kazooie amiibo?

Half of the Smash Wii U/3DS DLC fighters even got 2 different amiibo: Cloud, Corrin, and Bayonetta,
so we could get 2 Jokers, 4 Dragon Quest Heroes, 1 Banjo-Kazooie, 1 Terry Bogard, and 2 Byleths,
and then at least the 6 new ones from Fighters Pass 2.

@Silly_G I don't follow amiibo all that closely so I didn't realise it took 1.5 years for some of the Smash 4 amiibo - if the same pattern happens here, you can bet I'll be getting that Banjo amiibo!

That would depend on if the DLC has special skills then they might make a Amiibo for it.

my guess is that they're waiting after ALL the dlc fighters are out and then make them or release them.

They almost always announce only two waves max at any time. With Dark Samus and uh... Simon was it? Out now, we'll likely see another one or two waves announced in the next direct. So with all the base game settled now (I believe), well probably see Joker and Hero get announced next.
