So i am visiting japan for a month and was looking to purchase a Nintendo Switch there. I realise it will be in japanese but was wondering if id be able to change the language settings to english? Plus use it when im back in the UK with english purchased games!

Yes, you shouldn't have problems since the Switch is region free
